Pura Vida opens first storefront at Westfield UTC - Pacific San Diego

The brand was originally started by two San Diego State University alumni, Griffin Thall and Paul Goodman, on a surf trip to Costa Rica following their college graduation.

On the trip, the two men met local artisans selling colorful, handmade bracelets on the streets of Costa Rica. They decided to buy a few hundred and bring them back to the United States to sell.

Destination Dispensary: Wonderbrett Wows With Its First Storefront In Hollywood

For one of the most legendary legacy growers in California, Brett Feldman is surprisingly humble — a welcome and inspiring sentiment amid the ongoing corporatization of the cannabis industry.

"I just want to say thank you and give a special shout out to everybody on team Wonderbrett. I get a lot of credit and I'm the one out here talking about what I started. I put my name on it and I'm leading it, but I cannot do this by myself.

Plain Jane's Fried Pies & More Opens Storefront in Lubbock

I am deeply proud of my darling friends at Plain Jane's- not only are they just wonderful people, but they have also worked incredibly hard to get where they are today. They've successfully operated a food truck and now are on to even bigger and better endeavors.

Where are they "today"? In a darling storefront at 3407 98th, Suite 600. They soft-opened Thursday night, and will probably have unfixed hours for just a bit while they get everything settled. I recommend following them on Facebook to keep up with their hours in the interim.

Labor Day reflections | Columnists | smdailyjournal.com

Croissants and heavy rains are a terrible combination. I came to learn this arguably basic pastry-principle in the fall of my freshman year when my sister nominated me to be an extra pair of hands at the farmers' market stand at which she worked.

While occasional baby-sitting and working as a tennis instructor gave me a taste of responsibility, I craved a larger slice of the American dream pie.

On Monday, Aug. 30, local artist Gabrielle Vaughan started working on the mural for the hair studio at 206 Street and Lougheed Highway, to cover up the boarded up studio-front. Earlier in August, a car had smashed into the front windows of the store, while a client was sitting in the front foyer.
