Simon, one of the largest mall operators in the U.S., has announced its shopping centers, malls and properties will be closed on Thanksgiving Day 2020.
CEO David Simon said in a statement the decision was made so employees can spend the holiday with loved ones.

2 in custody after 19 gunshots fired near busy shopping area
Brockton police said two people were taken into custody following a shooting in broad daylight near restaurants and a busy shopping area off Crescent Street in Brockton Thursday afternoon.
ShotSpotter, the city's electronic gunfire detection system, detected 19 shots fired in the area of Crescent Plaza, which houses the Home Depot and Shaw's.
Police also received several 911 calls, including from people who said a man in a black SUV was shooting at another vehicle.
