A batter in baseball going 0 for 3 at the plate is the equivalent of a rough day at the office. When a political campaign goes 0 for 3, it's the equivalent of getting sent down to the minors.
Based on its three TV ads, the pro-Proposition 208 campaign should start packing its bags.
If passed, Proposition 208 would take the state's top individual income tax rate from 4.5% to 8%, a 77.7% increase.

Dan Crenshaw's Texas campaign ad looks like an action movie trailer
Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw dropped an epic, four-minute spot on Thursday casting him and five fellow Texas GOPers as an “Expendables”-esque team in a high-stakes fight to take the polls this fall.
The ad opens at 5 a.m. in the “Crenshaw Command Center,” where the former Navy SEAL and first-term congressman tears open an envelope marked “Top Secret.”
He removes his signature eyepatch — which covers a wound dealt to him by an IED while on deployment in Afghanistan — and uses futuristic tech implanted in the socket to interact with a smartphone he pulled from the package.
Govt rolls out ad campaign to support long-delayed Test and Trace app
The government has unveiled an ad campaign to support today's roll-out of the much-delayed contact-tracing app as part of its Test and Trace programme.
A spot, created by MullenLowe UK, will be shown on primetime TV tonight to highlight the new NHS Covid-19 app, using the strapline: "Protect your loved ones. Get the app."
In June, the government was forced to abandon its centralised contact-tracing app due to privacy concerns. The new app uses technology supported by Apple and Google, and works by logging the amount of time an app user spends near another, and the distance between them, via Bluetooth (rather than GPS). It will notify the user if they have been in close contact with a confirmed case and they will be told to self-isolate.

Gross campaign uses former Pebble CEO's leaked statements in latest attack ad on Sen.
The words of former Pebble Limited Partnership CEO Tom Collier are the basis for a new Al Gross attack ad against Sen. Dan Sullivan, released shortly before Collier's resignation was announced .
On Wednesday, the Gross campaign released the ad against incumbent Republican Sullivan, using candid statements Collier made in recent secret recordings released by an environmental group as ammunition in his fight to unseat the senator.
Sullivan's office said Collier was lying in the videos and that the Gross campaign used Collier's words to "distort the truth" about the senator's position on the mine.
