But in fact the authors have research showing that they are hungry for digital innovation in their interactions with industrial suppliers. In May 2020 L.E.K.’s Annual Contractor Survey found that most industrials customers are already using digital tools for purchases and other activities.
When it comes to embracing digital solutions to engage customers, many industrial businesses have lagged behind consumer-facing enterprises. There are a variety of reasons for this gap, but what we often hear is that industrial customers simply aren't ready for digital engagement. However, based on a large body of L.E.K. research, we beg to differ: customers are far more prepared for digital engagement than industrial leaders may realize.

BASYE, Va. (WHSV) — The water conservation request lifted for Stoney Creek Sanitary District Water customers has been lifted, according to a press release from Stoney Creek Sanitary District.
"I want to thank the many customers who participated in the water conservation effort," said Patrick Felling, Director of Public Services for Shenandoah County, in the release. "Several businesses, like Ashley's Car Wash, took steps to minimize their use of water during this period. For that we are grateful. Thanks also go to the Town of Mount Jackson, for allowing us to haul water to backfill our supply."

Nuclear plant may cost JEA customers, but not for a few years
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – JEA management admits that customers' bills might go up to pay for a nuclear power plant in Georgia that has cost billions of dollars and still isn't finished.
JEA promised to pay 41% of the cost of two reactors at Plant Vogtle, a joint-project with Georgia Power and other utilities located near Waynesboro, Georgia, south of Augusta. When JEA entered into the deal in 2008, the price tag to the JEA was supposed to be $1.4 billion. In exchange, JEA would get a deal on electricity rates for 20 years.

Port Settlements Will Send Refunds to Airport Rental Car Customers — Voice of San Diego
As much as $6.6 million in refunds may flow to San Diego International Airport rental car customers under settlements reached to resolve disputes over the legality of a Port of San Diego fee.
Rental car companies are tenants of the Port of San Diego, a government agency that acts as landlord for businesses spanning five cities along San Diego Bay.
At issue was whether the charge was a lawful fee or an illegal tax requiring two-thirds voter approval. Governments can raise fees, but they must prove that the fees are being used for the specific benefit of the people who pay them. If the fee is used for general or separate government needs, then the fee is actually a tax and must be subject to a vote of the public.
