The first wave of long-promised negative ads from the Trump campaign began this week in caustic form, flooding Facebook pages and television screens in swing states with harsh messages that make unfounded inferences about Joseph R. Biden Jr.'s mental state and paint the presumptive Democratic nominee as too friendly to the Chinese government.
In May alone, the Trump campaign has spent or reserved about $7 million on television airtime in local markets, fueling negative ads that repeat xenophobic tropes regarding the Chinese origin of the coronavirus, and unearth positive comments Mr. Biden has made about China in the past.
AAPI Groups Urge Biden to Drop Campaign Ad
A coalition of Asian American and Pacific Islander organizations and individuals on May 12 released the following open letter to former Vice President Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, taking issue with one of his campaign ads.

We are community leaders, educators, writers, and artists who are profoundly disappointed and concerned by the Biden campaign's recent "Unprepared" ad, and its strategy to attack Trump on the grounds that he "rolled over for the Chinese."

Trump Campaign Launches Ad Featuring Democratic Governors Praising President’s Coronavirus
(CNN) – President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign is launching a digital ad that features clips from several Democratic governors praising the President and his administration’s response to the coronavirus crisis .
The ad comes as Trump and his allies continue to push back against criticism of his leadership ahead of and during the pandemic. Polls show Americans are increasingly concerned about the federal government’s handling of the situation. A Pew Research poll revealed that 65% of respondents feel the President reacted too slowly to the crisis.

CHEYENNE — I've always thought that state tourism offices nationwide and especially in Wyoming are marvelous incubators for creativity in marketing.

In this year of the coronavirus pandemic, the tourism office slogan is "Wyoming responsibly," in reference to the restrictions still in place to combat the COVID-19 outbreak.
The slogan lacks the zip of earlier offerings but it is in keeping with the unusual, unsettled times.
