When the lockdown forced the Pizza Pilgrims chain to close, the company came up with an unusual solution to stay in business.

The company, with restaurants in London and Oxford and run by brothers Thom and James Elliot – who started out selling Neapolitan pizza from the back of a converted Piaggio Ape van – hit on the novel idea of posting pizza kits to customers.

Pizza Pilgrims pivoted online almost overnight via Shopify, the Canadian e-commerce platform that sells the digital kit that companies need to build and run a website.

Pinterest Launches Updated Shopify Integration to Streamline the Creation of Shoppable Product

Pinterest has announced that it's updated its Shopify app , adding a new option that will enable Shopify merchants to quickly and easily feed their entire product catalog directly into shoppable Pins.

"The app automatically creates a connection between the individual store and Pinterest, so the merchant doesn't need to edit code or add development resources, making it seamless for businesses of all sizes. Once installed, the app will allow a merchant to deploy a tag on their website [for Pin analytics], upload their product catalog and quickly publish in-stock Product Pins."

Today it was reported that the Chief Product Officer of Shopify ( SHOP ), Craig Miller , exercised options to sell 2,916 SHOP shares for a total transaction value of $2.24M.

Based on Shopify’s latest earnings report for the quarter ending March 31, the company posted quarterly revenue of $470 million and GAAP net loss of -$31,429,000. In comparison, last year the company earned revenue of $320 million and had a GAAP net loss of $24.15 million. The company has a one-year high of $826.38 and a one-year low of $262.17. The Company has a Price to Book ratio of 38.06.

Shopify revenue surges as more businesses sell more goods online | Ad Age

Shopify reported first-quarter revenue that topped analysts' estimates as businesses moved swiftly online during the coronavirus pandemic.

Sales grew by 47 percent to $470 million from the same quarter a year ago, Ottawa-based Shopify said in a statement Wednesday. Analysts had expected about $443 million, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

"We are working as fast as we can to support our merchants by re-tooling our products to help them adapt to this new reality," CEO Tobi Lutke said in the quarterly release.
