SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) – A thief made off with a shelf full of goods from a Walgreens, right in front of two customers and a security guard recording the incident.
"That's when he sort of, like, ran into me with his bicycle," said KGO-TV reporter Lyanne Melendez.
Melendez was one of the customers who recorded video of the incident while she was shopping on her day off. She was not injured by the bike.

The Amazon Customers Don't See - The New York Times
In his drive to create the world's most efficient company, Jeff Bezos discovered what he thought was another inefficiency worth eliminating: hourly employees who spent years working for the same company.
Longtime employees expected to receive raises. They also became less enthusiastic about the work, Amazon's data suggested. And they were a potential source of internal discontent.
Bezos came to believe that an entrenched blue-collar work force represented "a march to mediocrity," as David Niekerk, a former Amazon executive who built the company's warehouse human resources operations, told The Times, as part of an investigative project being published this morning . "What he would say is that our nature as humans is to expend as little energy as possible to get what we want or need."
How Airlines Can Cut Costs — Without Annoying Customers
The Covid-19 pandemic obviously had a dramatic negative impact on air travel demand , but weak profits long predated the pandemic. Average economic profits of airlines (i.e., the return on invested capital minus the cost of capital) were negative for 20 years until 2015, when they turned slightly positive before dipping back into the red by 2019 .
Fortunately for the industry, however, it is not all doom and gloom. Travel is expected to return to a growth path over the next few years. And as airline companies prepare for recovery, they can leverage a unique asset — their loyalty programs.
Forgotten appointments cost salon money and customers
Here is the problem: Let's say "Karen" books a hair-color treatment that requires three hours to complete on a Thursday. That time frame is now blocked off on the schedule. On Wednesday, Karen is contacted to verify she will be in to receive her color treatment, and she verifies. As the time approaches Karen's appointment, several folks walk into the salon to request a service but are denied because the time has been allotted to Karen.
Karen is 10 minutes late and then 20 minutes late and then 30 minutes late. The salon then calls Karen to make sure she has not run into a ditch. Karen says: "Oh, I forgot all about it. I'll have to reschedule." Apparently, these no-shows have no concept that they have not only cost the salon three hours of productivity but also denied service to many walk-ins.
FedEx Is Pruning Customers Because It Can't Keep Up With Demand | The Motley
FedEx ( NYSE:FDX ) is cutting service to about 1,400 of its less-than-truckload customers, according to a report, in response to heavy demand that is causing terminal bottlenecks and shipping delays.
FedEx invested heavily in capacity in 2019, but its network and those of other shippers have been put to the test during the pandemic. On Monday, FreightWaves reported that the company has begun notifying certain manufacturers, retailers, and logistics customers that it would no longer pick up their goods. The sudden announcement, the report notes, leaves little time to make alternative shipping arrangements.
Shop owner's plea as California reopens: 'I need customers' - Santa Monica Daily
During the darkest days of the coronavirus pandemic, Martha Medina would occasionally slip into her shuttered store on Los Angeles’ oldest street to ensure everything was secure.
Colorful folklorico dresses from each of Mexico’s 32 states lined the walls. Black charro suits worn by mariachis and adorned with ornate gold or silver trim hung from a rack in the back. Brightly painted Dia de los Muertos folk art skulls and figurines were safely locked behind a glass case.
Georgia landline phone customers to see lower bills | News | news-daily.com
ATLANTA - The diminishing number of Georgians with landline telephones in their homes are about to see a savings on their bills thanks to the sunsetting of a decade-old program.
The Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) voted unanimously Tuesday to reduce the fee supporting the program from 6% to 3.75% in monthly phone bills starting next month.
The mandatory fee, implemented in 2011, was designed to bring the costs of in-state long-distance phone calls in line with the costs of out-of-state long distance. It took 10 years to fully implement the program, making the fee reduction possible.
