Just six months ago, unemployment was so low that many companies struggled to recruit and keep skilled workers. Some employers offered employees enhanced education benefits , both to entice them to stay and to get them better trained for their roles.
Now, though, the job market has crashed, and millions of Americans are out of work or furloughed. And they're the target audience of a new ad campaign from a White House task force encouraging unemployed or underemployed Americans to take the initiative to strengthen their job skills in order to "find something new."
While you're here, how about this:
Trump campaign runs anti-TikTok ads on Facebook and Instagram - Business Insider
As Donald Trump considers banning TikTok, his political campaign has started running ads on Facebook and Instagram accusing the China-based platform of "spying" on its users.
Paul Fanlund: Even the campaign ads are breaking Joe Biden's way | Paul Fanlund | madison.com
Former Navy SEAL Dan Barkhuff is featured in an ad by the Lincoln Project, a collaboration of conservative political operatives, accusing President Donald Trump of being either a coward or a traitor.
It's not as if we expect courage, logic or leadership, but his recent actions seem the polar opposite of those required to reverse his collapsing campaign. He desperately needs to attract or reconnect with prospective voters outside his rabid band of Fox News-loving sycophants, but he seems incapable of even trying.
Schoenburg: Outside group spending $350,000 on ads promoting Davis, bill - News - The State
A Washington, D.C.-based organization that has received millions of dollars from the pharmaceutical industry is running a $350,000 ad campaign promoting U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Taylorville, and a bill he supports.
It is part of the American Action Network’s announced $4 million campaign to push H.R. 19 in 16 congressional districts, all represented by Republicans. Davis is the only Illinois congressman in the group.
In a statement after the TV ad started running, Londrigan said families in the 13th should "have a representative who will fight for them rather than side with the pharmaceutical companies."
Not to change the topic here:
COVID-19: New ad campaign to get Texans to wear masks | kvue.com
AUSTIN, Texas — While a majority of Americans say they wear face masks outside the home – 72% according to a Gallup Survey this week – there's still a sizeable number who say they won't wear them even if health experts say that it helps to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Gallup reported 14% of Americans say they will never wear a face mask.
So the question is this: What would it take to convince those who refuse, to have a change of heart and put a mask on? Could a marketing campaign change their minds?

The ad underscores how Democrats intend to hammer Collins over her controversial vote to confirm Kavanaugh at a time he was facing sexual misconduct allegations. Kavanaugh strongly denied the allegations.

"Susan Collins was warned by Mainers that Brett Kavanaugh couldn't be trusted to protect their reproductive health and rights, but she failed to listen," said Sarah Standiford, national campaign director of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, in a statement to The Hill.
