’Tis the season to shop early: ‘stay safe‘ festive ad campaign | Retail industry | The Guardian

It might still be pumpkin season, but the British Retail Consortium is pressing ahead with a new advertising campaign urging the public to start their Christmas shopping early. The publicity drive to 'shop early, start wrapping, enjoy Christmas' launches today and aims to spread demand during the busiest shopping season of the year.

The BRC says it hopes to "encourage the public to embrace the true Christmas spirit by thinking of others and preventing the usual retail rush seen through late November and December both in stores and online."

NAR 'Recommitted to the Fairness Fight' With New Fair Housing Ad Campaign —

The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) has long advocated for fair housing. However, as displayed by the recent resurgence of human rights protests and investigations by Newsday showing inequality and discriminatory practices in real estate, there is still work to be done.

The Fair Housing extension campaign began in the summer with national full-page takeovers in the Wall Street Journal and New York Times, as well as a Politico sponsorship and various marketing assets made available to NAR members. Phase two kicked off in October and was created in partnership with Havas Chicago and renowned illustrator and animator Noma Bar.

Beastie Boys License Song for an Ad for First Time, for Biden Campaign - Variety

The Beastie Boys had never before licensed any of their songs for an advertisement, but that commercial blackout came to an end during Sunday’s Steelers/Browns game, when the sounds of “Sabotage” accompanied a spot for the Joe Biden presidential campaign.

A Biden campaign spokesperson said the Beastie Boys, who had “never licensed music for an ad until now,” agreed to the use of “Sabotage” in the spot “because of the importance of the election.

Trump And Biden Ad Spending Tops $1 Billion In Key States : NPR

More than $1 billion has now been spent on TV ads for the 2020 presidential election in just 13 states, an NPR analysis of the latest ad spending data from the tracking firm Advertising Analytics finds.

Most of that money has been spent by Democrat Joe Biden's campaign and groups supporting him. Biden and allies have spent more than $600 million, while President Trump's campaign and groups supporting him have spent a little over $400 million.
