If you're hoping to score a good deal on a new car during July Fourth sales events, it will be a mixed bag.
While manufacturers and dealerships are offering special deals on some models to prop up sales amid the pandemic, inventory is down due to coronavirus-related disruptions in manufacturing.
"We've seen incentives continue to move up across the industry in recent weeks, despite the fact that inventory is falling," said Kelsey Mays, senior consumer affairs editor of Cars.com.

Rezoning could bring shopping center to former Pier 1 building
The Wichita Falls City Council will be considering Tuesday, a rezoning of a piece of land off Kemp Boulevard so it can be turned into a shopping center.
The property at 4400 Kemp Boulevard was home to Pier 1 Imports for decades before the business permanently closed earlier this year.
Property owner Theodore Pantos contacted city staff March 16 to discuss a possible remodel of the structure into a multi-tenant shopping center that would have drive-through services.

Santa Maria thieves steal safe, go shopping in LA
A man and woman, both 21-year-old Santa Maria residents, received two-year state prison sentences this week for stealing an elderly person's safe and then using the cash inside it to go shopping for luxury items in the Los Angeles area.
In late 2019, Julio Cesar Bautista and Jazmin Martinez broke into an elderly person's home and stole a safe with a large amount of cash. Over the following days, Bautista and Martinez traveled to the Los Angeles area and used the stolen money to purchase high-end clothing, expensive hotel stays and other extravagant items, according to the Santa Maria Police Department.
