First, there's pushback from agency employees who see the $300 million effort as politically motivated. Many celebrities are refusing to participate. Plus, the campaign's operating on a rushed timeline, Politico reports .

More than 30 celebrities on the administration's wish list—including musicians Billy Joel, Lady Gaga and Justin Timberlake—declined offers to join the campaign, according to Politico interviews with HHS officials and others.

Facebook removes Trump campaign ads with misleading claims about refugees | Technology | The

"We rejected these ads because we don't allow claims that people's physical safety, health, or survival is threatened by people on the basis of their national origin or immigration status," a Facebook spokesman, Andy Stone, told NBC News in a statement.

Facebook is also changing its policies to prevent ads that delegitimize election results, project manager Rob Leathern tweeted on Wednesday. Under the new policies, ads cannot prematurely declare victory, present any method of voting as fraudulent or corrupt, or make accusations of voter fraud. The changes to these policies apply to both Instagram and Facebook and apply immediately as of Wednesday, he said.

Tribeca Studios, YouTube Ad Campaigns Drive Traffic To U.N.

An innovative YouTube ad campaign from New York’s Tribeca Studios and agencies in eight cities around the world are helping push traffic and new viewers to globalgoals.org, the website for the U.N.’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals , or SDGs.

Tribeca CEO Jane Rosenthal, Google , YouTube and advertising execs presented the findings at a prerecorded session to stream Wednesday at Advertising Week 2020. Tribeca paired filmmakers with agencies on campaigns for eight of the U.N.’s 17 SDGs, an ambitious 2015 global call to action on issues from climate and poverty to education and food waste.

Biden prepares ad onslaught to overwhelm Trump | TheHill

Biden's campaign alone has reserved nearly a quarter billion dollars in advertising over the next five weeks in 18 swing states. Outside groups that support Biden have blocked off $112 million in their own airtime.

President Trump's campaign, which spent heavily on advertising earlier in the year, is set to spend far less. So far, the campaign has reserved $130 million in airtime in 13 states, according to data provided by one Democrat and one Republican watching the advertising market.
