In a blog post today, Intel detailed a tool its IT Advanced Analytics team developed internally to mine millions of public business pages and extract actionable segmentation for both current and potential customers.

Clearview AI facial recognition customers reportedly include Justice Department, FBI, ICE, Macy's
" This is a crisis for our democracy ," Evan Greer, deputy director of Fight for the Future, said in a statement. "Lawmakers need to get off their butts, do their jobs, and pass legislation to ban the use of facial recognition surveillance not just by government agencies but by corporations too."
The FBI declined to comment. Best Buy denied ever using or planning to use Clearview AI. Bank of America said it's not a customer. ICE, the Department of Justice, Interpol, Customs and Border Protection, Macy's, AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Eventbrite, Las Vegas Sands, Walmart and Kohl's didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.

MDC will pay $7.7 million to compensate thousands of suburban customers for disputed water
The Metropolitan District has tentatively agreed to pay about $7.7 million to settle with thousands of suburban homeowners who paid inflated water bills for years because the authority imposed what courts have called a succession of illegal surcharges.
But the tentative settlement could prove to be a fleeting victory for water customers: The MDC, the capital region sewer and water authority, may have to raise rates to cover the settlement.
Lafayette Parish Waterworks District North warns customers about third-party payment sites
Some customers of Lafayette Parish Waterworks District North (LPWDN) may have paid their bills to a third-party payment website not associated with the waterworks district causing delay in actual payment to LPWDN.
LPWDN says that some customers have paid their bills online to a webpage not associated with them. Officials say they were not aware of this webpage but say that these types of third-party payment websites are not illegal. They say that the companies should eventually pay LPWDN but it may cause issues for customers.
