NorthWestern Energy warns Montana customers of scam | Local | mtstandard.com

The callers leave a phone message saying the customers' meter will be changed shortly with instructions to call a phone number. When the customer calls the number, they are told there is a fee and service will be disconnected if the "fee" isn't paid immediately. This is a scam, according to a news release from NorthWestern.

NorthWestern does not call customers and demand immediate payment. Don't supply any personal information unless you are sure you are indeed working with the utility.

Bend brewery supplier charged with defrauding customers of more than $800K - oregonlive.com

The owner of a Bend brewery supplier is facing seven criminal counts in federal court after he allegedly used his brewing company to defraud customers out of more than $800,000.

Matthew Mulder, 48, allegedly solicited and accepted orders for microbrewery equipment and supplies he knew his company couldn't fulfill. He faces four counts of wire fraud and three counts of mail fraud.

Mulder's company, WeCan Brewing Systems, supplied custom-built microbrew systems, keg washers and other industrial brewing products to brewers around the U.S.

OUD, customers talk through problems | The Cleveland Daily Banner

Technical issues are at the center of some of the customer complaints voiced against Ocoee Utility District earlier this week.

Local residents brought their concerns to the Bradley County Commission during its work session Monday night, ranging from water leaks to incorrect meter readings.

Commissioner Howard Thompson offered to meet with the residents and OUD officials Tuesday morning. That session resulted in explanations of what went wrong with meter readings and how the customers and OUD can move forward.
