Someone is selling a leather couch on Facebook Marketplace...with snow on it? And decided to take these pictures? With snow on it? I have so many questions.
In case you are keeping track:
A "cold chain" used by COVID-19 vaccine and Dippin' Dots - Marketplace
It almost sounds like the setup for a joke: What does the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for the coronavirus have in common with Dippin’ Dots?
Except the answer isn’t a punchline: They’re both distributed via a “cold chain.”
Dippin’ Dots, which are a frozen, pelletized ice cream snack often found at sporting events, are made using liquid nitrogen. In order to reach ice cream stands at stadiums or amusement parks, they have to be kept at extremely low temperatures using dry ice — just like the Pfizer vaccines.
States' remote-work-income-tax squabble is heating up - Marketplace
The number of us working remotely during the pandemic has raised a tricky tax question: If you work in one state and your company is located in another, which state gets the income tax revenue? A cluster of states are fighting over this at Supreme Court level . Marketplace's Nova Safo joined host Sabri Ben-Achour to discuss.
Sabri Ben-Achour : At the heart of this case is a dispute between New Hampshire and Massachusetts. What's that about?
Nova Safo: Because this is a cross-border issue, New Hampshire went straight to the Supreme Court for a resolution. And what it's asking for is an answer to this pandemic-era question: If you're a New Hampshire resident who would normally commute to work in Massachusetts, now working from home because of the pandemic, which state gets to tax you?
Facebook case won't be "open and shut," former antitrust attorney says -
Facebook is pushing back against two sweeping lawsuits alleging the media and advertising company has acquired an illegal amount of marketplace power — in other words, that it’s a monopoly. The Federal Trade Commission and a coalition of 46 states, the District of Columbia and Guam filed these cases Wednesday.
David Brancaccio: You are an attorney specializing in antitrust. Do you see an open-and-shut case here?
Erik Gordon: This is not going to be open and shut. This is going to be a long-fought battle with lots of twists and turns. And I don’t think the government is going to get what it’s asking for.

It may be the biggest music publishing rights deal ever made, worth an estimated $300 million: Universal Music Publishing Group has signed a deal to buy Bob Dylan's entire music catalog. Stevie Nicks recently closed a deal to sell a majority stake in her catalog.

Why demand for Mason jars surges in times of uncertainty - Marketplace
Kai Ryssdal: I will quote you back to yourself as the first question in this interview. You say in this piece, “There may be no better barometer of the state of our economy than the Mason jar.” Discuss.
Jen Doll: Well, when I started digging into this story, I talked to several historians. And you know, not only are there Mason jars that have been with us since the late 1800s, there are also Mason jar historians. And the thing that they all told me was this isn’t anything new. This happens every decade, every 12 years.
