KUB continues to work to restore power to approximately 3,300 customers | WATE 6 On Your Side

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Knoxville Utilities Board reports that crews are continuing to work to restore power to approximately 3,300 customers.

This after around 60 crews including assistance from Lenoir City Utility Board, Appalachian Electric Cooperative, crews from Nashville, Jackson, Alabama, Kentucky, and North Carolina worked through the night.

KUB says that the estimated restoration time is unknown, as this multi-day event will reportedly last until at least Sunday afternoon.

Ohio bar customers continue to resist COVID-19 restrictions

Nine months after the coronavirus infected the first Ohioans, bar and restaurant workers say they continue to be confronted by customers who refuse to abide by mask mandates and social distancing requirements.

Those customers cost food service workers time and often money when they leave smaller tips, workers say.

While difficult patrons are dwindling in number, employees of central Ohio pubs, taverns and diners say they still see them, forcing workers to find new ways to deal with those who don't take the pandemic seriously.

Sugarbakers is distributing orders to customers in various ways

According to the National Confections Association, chocolate and candy sales have gone up 5% and premium chocolates jumped more than 12% since the start of the pandemic.

Customer Danny Clark says, "the holiday season you take appreciation for stuff like that, homemade, scratch not everyone give's out their recipe."

Only 777 Central Hudson customers still without power in wake of Christmas storm | Local News |

Fewer than 800 customers of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. remained without power Saturday afternoon in the wake of a wind and rain storm that raked the Mid-Hudson Valley and Catskills late Thursday and early Christmas Day.

At the height of the outages, Friday morning, about 42,000 of Central Hudson's 306,000 customers were without electricity across the utility's eight-county coverage area.
