FCC chair Ajit Pai is one of the stars of a new paid ad campaign pushing the FCC to free up C-Band spectrum for 5G ASAP.
The aptly named 5G Action Now says it has launched a "targeted digital" ad campaign featuring Pai, President Trump, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Attorney General Bog Barr all talking about the danger of China winning the race to 5G.
The campaign follows Pai's announcement last week of a late 2020 auction of C-Band midband spectrum. He plans a vote on the plan at the FCC's Feb. 28 meeting.

The campaign said it will release two ads Wednesday as the result of a seven-figure buy that will focus on the Las Vegas and Reno markets. The ads will air on cable, broadcast and digital three days before the start of Nevada's early voting period.
"We have a President who thinks everything is about him. His tweets, his golf courses, his ego. But I think the job is about you," she says in the second video, dubbed " About You ."
The announcement of the ads comes as Klobuchar appears set for a third-place finish in Tuesday night's New Hampshire primary, a result that followed a polling surge in the aftermath of a strong debate performance on Friday.

Procter & Gamble Co.'s Secret has signed a deal with Serena Williams around the brand's gender-equality work, putting an additional $1 million behind an effort to which the brand donated $1 million in the past year.
As part of the partnership, announced Tuesday at the Maker's Conference in Los Angeles, Williams will appear in ads for Secret's "All Strength No Sweat" campaign breaking next month. The brand handles creative in-house.
Williams and Secret are starting by launching a study to look at how gender bias surfaces in sports from high school to professional levels.

Mike Bloomberg is spending so much money on Facebook ads that he has surpassed President Donald Trump, the reigning king of the social media realm.
The billionaire media magnate and the former mayor of New York City has been pouring millions of dollars into Facebook and its sibling app Instagram since he jumped into the Democratic presidential race, easily outpacing the Trump campaign, according to Facebook data compiled by NBC News.
Bloomberg spent more than $1 million a day on average over the past two weeks on Facebook. That's five times more than Trump spent during the same period — and more than three times what Trump spent per day during his victorious fall 2016 campaign.

A new video ad campaign by Figure Technologies has "Blockchain," the character explaining the eponymous technology, according to published reports Tuesday (Feb. 11).

The ad is aimed at helping viewers understand what Figure does. The startup uses a lending process based on blockchain — a bookkeeping network ran by computers. If people understand it, Figure hopes they may be more inclined to use Figure's services.
Chief marketing officer Brad Simmons told Reuters the time is now to educate consumers, but he didn't disclose how much had been spent on the ads. The ads will play on broadcast and television.
