At some point during Sunday's Super Bowl LIV, the nationwide broadcast will show presidential campaign advertisements from two New York billionaires. After President Trump's reelection campaign purchased two 30-second nationwide spots, Michael Bloomberg announced his own 60-second ad last month . These two ads will be the Super Bowl's first nationwide presidential ads.
These ads, which cost both candidates roughly $10 million dollars, are emblematic of the astronomical ad spends in 2020's presidential contest. A Washington Post analysis , written by the three co-directors of the Wesleyan Media Project, found that Bloomberg's campaign has aired seven times as many TV commercials to date as previous record-holder Mitt Romney's campaign had at this point in 2008.
Quite a lot has been going on:
Blockchain is powering this ad campaign at Super Bowl 2020 - Decrypt
The ad breaks during the Super Bowl are among the most expensive–and most lucrative–anywhere in the world. And blockchain is getting in on the action.
Avocados from Mexico, a nonprofit trade group is the first fresh produce company to use blockchain in a Super Bowl ad. Ahead of the big game, it has released the advert it will show to audiences during one of the many ad breaks.
In it, actress Molly Ringwald presents a fictional version of the QVC shopping network whereby shoppers can buy gifts for their avocados like a Tortilla Chip Pool Float, or an Avo-Carrier.
Ads invade Byte with a campaign from Nike | Engadget
Like it or not, the Vine revival app Byte is bringing in a staple of modern social networks: prominent ads. The looping video app has launched its first ad campaign with Nike, which is running a rathe conspicuous "Self Hail Mary" sponsored section alongside the usual categories. It's easy to avoid watching the videos if you don't particularly care for them, but there'll be no doubt that Nike paid for obvious placement.
Don't be surprised if you see more of these ad blitzes in the future. Byte's strategy revolves around paying creators a cut of ad revenue, and it'll need big promos like Nike's if it's going to have enough money to make it worthwhile for would-be influencers. The challenge, of course, is to bring in enough ads without driving away the very users Byte needs to recreate Vine's glory days.
Super Bowl: Tom Brady's tweet part of Hulu ad campaign
Fans argued over whether the uncaptioned photo meant Brady was leaving or staying in New England after 20 seasons and six Super Bowl championships. The 14-time Pro Bowl quarterback offered no insight into what the cryptic tweet meant.

"I don't want to say too much about it, but all the fans who are watching the game will figure it out pretty quickly," Brady said, per ESPN's Mike Reiss. "I was definitely having some fun. It will be revealed here shortly as you're watching the game."

This Sunday, there will be two competitions happening as the 2020 Super Bowl unfolds. The San Francisco 49ers will, of course, face the Kansas City Chiefs for the Super Bowl 54 title.
But there will also be an undercard fight of sorts: President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg have both spent millions on competing ads that will air during the Big Game .
Ads for presidential candidates have aired in some local markets during the Super Bowl in previous years; in 2008, then-Sen. Barack Obama's campaign bought local airtime in 24 states . But the Bloomberg and Trump ads mark the first time political campaigns have bought time for a coveted and very expensive nationwide commercial slot.
$100,000 TV and Radio ad campaign will promote Census 2020 in RGV
WESLACO, Texas – The Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council is working with the U.S. Census Bureau to raise $100,000 for a Census 2020 Spanish language TV and Radio advertising campaign.
Details of the project were unveiled by LRGVDC Executive Director Ron Garza at the group's January board meeting, held last week in Weslaco. The LRGVDC is the official council of government for Cameron, Hidalgo and Willacy counties.
"Our individual cities in the Valley have done a great job tailoring their Census 2020 message to their communities. They have come up with their own logos, they have branded it, which is key," Garza told the Rio Grande Guardian , after the LRGVDC meeting had concluded.
