Scrappy or not, curbside pickup not only rescued Dick's sales during the lockdowns, it has also emerged as many retailers' best strategy for long-term survival in the e-commerce age. And what started as a coronavirus stopgap is likely to have a permanent impact on the way people shop, along with giving them a new reason to continue to visit beleaguered physical stores.

I don't know about you, but I am getting close to the point where I do not want to turn on the television.

It's not the reruns or the regular programming that has me shying away. It is the political ads that are running, constantly running. It doesn't matter if it is the morning news, the 10 p.m. news or any program in between. You just can't escape the negativism that is bombarding us.

When a negative ad came on recently for the umpteenth time, talking about a candidate that wants to tax me more, or take away social security or health care or my right to something or another, a thought hit me. Actually several thoughts.

Hurricane Delta leaves over half a million customers without power in Louisiana | S&P Global

New York — Hurricane Delta made landfall in Louisiana on the evening of Oct. 9 with 100 mph winds and a 10-foot storm surge, knocking out power to hundreds of thousands of people who were still recovering from Hurricane Laura which hit the same region in August.

Delta has been downgraded to a tropical depression, but not before leaving roughly 575,000 thousand customers without electricity as of late morning Oct. 10, according to poweroutage.us.

JPMorgan to Impose Fees on Low-Balance Chase Private Client Customers - AdvisorHub

(Corrects first sentence to show that $150,000 minimum includes balances in savings and investment accounts.)

In another example of big banks' push to glean more assets from mass affluent branch customers, JPMorgan Chase & Co. next month will begin charging a monthly service fee to Chase Private Client customers whose start-of-month balances fall below $150,000.

The fee will be $35 monthly. Balances in basic business banking accounts will not count toward the minimum requirement, according to notices customers are receiving from Chase Private Client head Frank Barbieri.

Water service shutdown for customers in Wainiha | KHON2

WAINIHA, Hawaii (KHON2) – The Department of Water Supply (DWS) announced water will be shut off for about five hours between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 12 to allow repairs to a distribution line on the Haena side of the Wainiha Bridge on Kuhio Highway. 

The affected area includes customers on Kuhio Highway between Powerhouse Road to Ananalu Road. Ala Eke Road and Ananalu Road may also experience the shut off.
