On Monday, NBCUniversal and PayPal lifted the curtain on a monthslong partnership to capitalize on holiday shopping—but it's just the beginning of NBCUniveral's broader ecommerce ambitions.
A holiday shopping push, in which shoppable gift guides are being rolled out across six NBCUniversal brands, features products from more than 60 brands, all of which are part of the inaugural group of retail partners on NBCUniversal's commerce platform, Checkout. The company is already aiming to at least double the number of retail partners in the coming months, according to Josh Feldman, NBCUniversal's evp, head of marketing and advertising creative.

Atlanta payments encryption firm Bluefin is partnering with New York mobile payments processor PAAY to advance eCommerce security.
"PAAY provides strong authentication at the front door and Bluefin encrypts and tokenizes the data at the point of interaction on the web. The ODP Corp., better known by its flagship office supplies brand Office Depot, reported a 9% year-over-year drop in third-quarter sales, resulting from the headwinds of COVID-19.

But there was also good news: The company's third-quarter sales increased by 18% sequentially from the second quarter, and ecommerce sales—covering both B2B and retail division sales—increased by more than 20% and put the company on course to surpass $1.2 billion in annualized online sales.
