SVO Disbands PAC Amid Backlash to 'Blatantly Racist' Campaign Ad | San Jose Inside

"As a first step toward restoring its 130-year reputation, the Silicon Valley Organization voted to immediately dissolve the SVO PAC, subject to state and local campaign finance laws and reporting requirements," SVO's damage-control spokesflak Terry Downing announced less than a day before the general election.

France entered its second national lockdown on Friday to try to contain a surge in infections. The curbs imposed under it include the closure of non-essential stores.

A spokeswoman for Amazon AMZN.O said the group had agreed to halt its radio advertising campaign around pre-Black Friday sales.

Candidates and groups drop over $12 million on Facebook ad spending

RICHMOND, Va. (CAPITAL NEWS SERVICE) — In an election forecasted to have record voter turnout, political campaigns have deployed a multiplatform media blitz.

Facebook is for more than likes these days, with the platform getting its share of Virginia political and issue spending to the tune of over $12.7 million in a recent three-month period, according to the social media platform.

Tobe Berkovitz, an advertising professor at Boston University who has worked as a political media consultant on election campaigns, said campaigns advertise on social media for the same reasons that consumer advertising is used.

The Masvidal ad was targeted to voters in Florida .

The prime advertising slot is one that the Trump campaign secured months ago, before the Democratic Party had even settled on a nominee. It's just one part of an aggressive YouTube strategy from the Trump campaign, one that has used tactics like colorful ombre thumbnails and bombastic headlines. Many of the videos seem to be targeted toward the younger audience on the platform, and the strategy has helped Trump land some of the most-viewed political videos on YouTube.

Star Trek Releases Jonathan Archer Presidential Campaign Ad

Today is election day in the United States, and Star Trek has gotten into the spirit of things by releasing a fictional campaign ad. This ad isn't a campaign ad for the United States presidential race, but for "Jonathan Archer for President of the United Federation of Planets 2814." Archer is one of Starfleet's most decorated captains ever .

The ad heralds Archer's achievements as captain of Starfleet's first ship capable of achieving warp five. It also parrots the claim by at least one Federation historian that Archer was the greatest explorer of the 22nd century. Finally, it stitches together some of Archer's great speeches from Enterprise to form a closing argument for his campaign. In the video, he says:

Biden Ads Flood the NFL Zone as Campaign Outspends Trump Across Sports

Regardless of your political leanings and whether you're a Buckeyes loyalist or a Wolverines diehard, it is perhaps uncontroversial to suggest that however things shake out with the presidential election, the end of this particularly crotchety campaign cycle will be a boon to sports fans of all stripes. Fauci Says Trump Campaign Ad Uses His Words 'Completely Out of Context' - The New York Times

WASHINGTON — Dr. Anthony S. Fauci , whose blunt public health advice has frequently been at odds with President Trump, said on Tuesday that a Trump campaign ad quoted him "completely out of context" by incorrectly implying that he was praising the administration's coronavirus response.

He also warned that the campaign "may turn off a lot of people" by airing an ad to which he is so vocally opposed.

"President Trump tackled the virus head on, as leaders should," the ad declares, before switching to a shot of Dr. Fauci saying, "I can't imagine that anybody could be doing more."
