NetElixir Forecasts 30% Increase in Ecommerce Sales for the 2020 Holiday Season
The company forecasts aggregate ecommerce sales to experience a 30% YOY increase in November to December 2020, with total online sales in the November to December period likely to exceed 20% of total retail sales in the U.S. Retailers will also start activities early, with the company predicting that some will run their most attractive holiday promotions the week of November 15 to encourage early shopping behavior.

ACI's data also showed that the second wave of COVID-19 lockdowns in the EMEA region has already resulted in a more than 100 percent increase in eCommerce transactions in the retail sector from November 1-4, 2020.
"With the U.K. already in another lockdown and the U.S. potentially heading toward one, we're seeing consumers prepare to hunker down for the holidays and get their shopping done earlier than ever," said Debbie Guerra, executive vice president, ACI Worldwide. "Related, merchants are offering deals earlier, which has also driven increases in transaction volumes in October compared to the same time last year. We're expecting this trend to continue as we move further into the holiday season."

Qurate continues to see ecommerce growth amid pandemic
Qurate Retail Group reported a 15.2% increase in ecommerce revenue for the third quarter ended Sept. 30. Qurate, No. 9 in the 2020 Digital Commerce 360 Top 1000 , generated 61.7% of its revenue from online channels or $2.08 billion, up from $1.81 billion or 58.7% of total revenue last year.
Ecommerce grew faster than other areas for the owner of QVC, HSN, Zulily and Cornerstone brands . Total revenue at Qurate increased 9.5% to $3.38 billion from $3.09 billion last year. However, ecommerce growth slowed down compared with last quarter, when it jumped 19.0% and made up nearly two-thirds of company revenue.
E-commerce startup Heroes raises $65M in equity and debt to become the Thrasio of Europe –
Heroes , a European e-commerce business operating a similar model to unicorn Thrasio in the U.S. — with a strategy of acquiring and scaling high-performing Amazon businesses — has raised $65 million in a funding round.
“Debt will play an important role in the growth of our business going forward,” explains ex-EQT VC Riccardo Bruni, who co-founded Heroes with his brother Alessio. “Ultimately, it is a significantly cheaper form of capital which is non-dilutive, allowing our team and our investors to retain ownership in Heroes in the long term”.
