The Hoboken Business Alliance (HBA) has launched its holiday window decorating contest, "Window into Hoboken" to showcase and support local Hoboken businesses.
Storefront windows throughout the mile-square city will be decorated this holiday season and business owners have a chance to win $1,000 prizes or a $2,000 grand prize.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to explore the "Window into Hoboken" displays and share their favorites on social media for a chance to win prizes, too, including two top prizes provided by the W Hoboken.

DuBois, PA – Brady Street Florist in DuBois will be closing their storefront portion of the business, but they’ll still offer their products and services online.
Jennifer Jackson, the owner of the business, says she made the decision after having to spend more time away from the store due to the difficulties of the pandemic and at one point contracting COVID-19 herself.
She made the announcement yesterday, on her birthday, as she considered how she wanted to spend her time.

Express storefronts are a temporary way for Apple to efficiently serve customers in regions where in-store sales and support are unsafe due to local COVID-19 conditions. Apple SVP Deirdre O'Brien noted ahead of the iPhone 12 launch that 50 locations worldwide would add Express storefronts by the end of October. Worsening infection rates throughout fall have compelled the company to gradually retrofit 125 of its 270 stores in the US alone as of November 30.

"This year we really wanted to do a sugar plum fairy, do something very light and whimsical, put a little light in the darkness that we have been experiencing this year," Robyn Gross, who worked to create the dress, said.

Public art has found a new home on the Upper West Side — in some vacant and occupied storefronts on Columbus Avenue. A project called “Art on the Ave” is now beautifying the avenue, including inside stores that might otherwise look empty and forlorn.

It was started by three teachers — Barbara Anderson, Jackie Graham and Leigh Majer — trying to make sense of the pandemic and the emptiness it had created. They explained the project like this on their website .

Southern Christmas Show Holds Virtual Storefront
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Southern Christmas Show usually attracts more than a hundred vendors and thousands of people, but organizers had to adjust it this year due to the pandemic.
Teresa Thibault owns Heart Gifts, also known as American Ornaments in Kannapolis. Her and her staff decorate all of their ornaments by hand, and for the last 27 years, she has been bringing those special gifts to the Southern Christmas Show in Charlotte. This year however, that changed.
