The year-end shopping season begins amid a "new normal" brought on by the pandemic. With social distancing measures and an uncertain outlook for the near future, Mexican micro and small businesses are determined to face the coming months with resilience.

Recent data on the pandemic tells us that e-commerce, which has been growing in recent years, will continue to expand. According to the Mexican Online Sales Association (AMVO) , nine out of ten buyers are considering making some of their year-end purchases online, while 41% of those surveyed have stated that they will make all their purchases strictly in digital channels .

Robot waiters serve coffee to customers and keep employees safe

Black Canyon Coffee, a cafe in Bangkok, Thailand is protecting its workers, one robot at a time.

At Black Canyon, customers order meals at the counter, then dine at a table. Staff members load orders onto one of PuduBot's multiple shelves and the robot transports it to the correct table. The PuduBot even has sensors so that it doesn't crash into humans or objects.

Customer helps stop robbery attempt at Brown County convenience store

The Brown County Sheriff's Office is commending a man who grabbed a suspect as he was threatening to use a gun to rob a convenience store in Winchester.

The robbery took place around 6 a.m. when the suspect, Bryan Simpson, 62, tried to rob a First Stop Convenient Mart.
