Dior criticised for continuing to use Johnny Depp in ad campaign

The House of Dior has been criticised for continuing to publish an advertisement with actor Johnny Depp, who remains the face of its Sauvage product.

Some may suggest Dior may not have had enough time to turnaround a new campaign, however it could be argued it has other means at its disposal to advertise a brand without publishing imagery featuring Mr Depp.

Both Walt Disney and Warner Bros, two of the most powerful Hollywood studios, have severed ties with Mr Depp. Dior is yet to follow suit.

Johnnie Walker's counterpart, Jane, stars in new female-focused campaign | Ad Age

Jane Walker, female peer of well-known whiskey maker Johnnie, has returned for a new campaign from the brand that celebrates history-making women.

Launching today—Human Rights Day, as designated by the United Nations in 1948—the Diageo label's "First Women" campaign will take the form of an open letter published this morning in the New York Times, the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal.

"Our progress has been hard earned by fearless women past and present, who are brave enough to be the first. They didn't just open the door, they ripped the door off its hinges so it couldn't be closed again," it reads in part.

McDonald's ad campaign offers Golden Arches hairdo at virtual barber shop

DIY hairstyling has become a necessity in the pandemic, and now McDonald's is giving people a helping hand with a virtual barber shop. The only thing is, it requires you to have your hair cut in the shape of the Golden Arches.

People can book virtual consultations with influencer hairstylist Adam Lukacs at the pop-up "Golden M" barber shop in Stockholm, which opened this past weekend, to style the ultimate Golden M cut. (People took part in the session from home after booking via a website, but Lukacs worked from the actual shop and people could see him at work when they walked past.) The virtual salon was fully booked within two hours of the launch.
