Chicago police on Saturday afternoon were searching for the individual who opened fire near a South Loop shopping center, striking a 30-year-old man, authorities said.

Fiery shopping cart prompts evacuation at Palmhurst Walmart
According to Palmhurst police Chief Michael Vela, law enforcement agencies responded to reports of a fire at around 8 p.m. Friday at the Walmart in Palmhurst located at 215 E. Mile 3 Rd.
In the store, police and firefighters with the Mission Fire Department found a shopping cart on fire near the store’s auto section.
“An employee with the returns department had put a 16 oz. butane tank on top of a car battery and left the shopping cart with the items there and the tank exploded and caught fire on its own moments later,” Vela said. “It was more of an accident than anything else, nothing intentional.”
Pop-up shopping event held in Lafayette
LAFAYETTE, La. - Wonderland Performing Arts, an arts-focused nonprofit organization which fosters a creative and collaborative environment for artists throughout Acadiana, hosted their first ever "Shop 'Til You Drop" pop-up event on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Local vendors included REFIT Acadiana, Color Street, Roux Art Designs, Louisiana Threads, A. Dannette Photography, and more.
The event is a first for the theater, but organizers say they will continue doing the event every month.

Anti-Semitic slurs spray-painted on bank sign, businesses at Davie shopping plaza – WSVN
DAVIE, FLA. (WSVN) - Police in Davie are investigating after a shopping plaza was targeted by a vandal who spray-painted anti-Semitic slurs.
According to a 7News viewer, the vandal defaced a Chase bank sign at the University Plaza, located off University Drive and Miramar Parkway, most likely early Saturday morning.
