APS to reimburse customers after $24 million AGO legal settlement | 12news.com

ARIZONA, USA — If you're a customer using the Arizona Public Service Company (APS) as your electric utility provider, you may have a reimbursement coming your way soon.

The Arizona Attorney General's Office announced Monday that APS did a poor job helping customers understand their options for saving the most on electricity in 2019.

The agreement means power customers who, as of March 2020, were not on their most economical plan and could have saved an estimated $120 or more per year on a different rate plan, will be reimbursed money. Some customers from 2017 may also get reimbursed money.

Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield customers getting $48.2M back

Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey is providing rebates totaling $48.2 million to customers who bought individual policies for 2019, company officials said Monday.

The checks, averaging $367 a person, reflect the pre-COVID era. But executives said the refunds were a sign that their strategy to lower health care costs was paying dividends.

Newark-based Horizon is the state's biggest health insurance company, with 3.4 million members. The rebates, put in the mail this month, are for 131,520 members who had individual plans.

Variable rate electricity customers in disbelief at massive bills | khou.com

Whether or not Texas has the stomach to do that remains to be seen. It's also unclear if fines are just a part of a multi-pronged solution to make sure last week's electricity production failure doesn't happen again.

But electricity customers who didn't have a contract cementing their rate are seeing the effects of the storm now.

Electric prices ballooned. The hike was mandated by the Public Utility Commission in response to the "scarcity of the product."
