MLGW says they're working with customers on bills after widespread water issues

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The MLGW system is finally operating as normal, but now customers have to worry about the financial impact after massive water leaks across the city.

They say they plan to work with customers through payment plans and a "leak exception" that should bring bills closer to normal, but it's still unclear how exactly this will affect the customer's wallet.

Texas Griddy customers moved to other electric companies | The Texas Tribune

Texans who receive their electricity from Griddy Energy are being shifted to other providers after the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, which operates the power grid for most of Texas, revoked the company's rights to operate because it missed required payments to ERCOT, according to a market notice .

In all, Texas electricity providers failed to make more than $2.1 billion in payments that were due to ERCOT, according to another market notice Friday. The state entity depends on transaction fees from providers to help operate the state's electric grid.

As their water bills skyrocket, some Columbia Water customers blame their new meters

Columbia resident Laurie Prows reached out to WIS after her Columbia Water bill jumped from $64.70 in January, to $331.59 in February.

She said she blames the new digital water meter installed at her home in August. She said it began giving her higher readings and then proceeded to go up and down on the rates.

"[Columbia Water came out here and they came to the conclusion there were no leaks, and nobody could tell me why it was reading that I've used that much water when I know that I have not," she said.

Many things are taking place:

Power restored to 96% of Appalachian Power customers; Wayne County still impacted

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – While power has been restored to 96% of Appalachian Power customers affected by the historic ice storms, more than 1,000 customers remain without electricity in Wayne County.

AEP made that announcement Friday evening, saying it has about 4,000 total customers still without power.

While the goal was to get most customers restored by 10 p.m. Friday, crews will continue working through the weekend until everyone is back on the grid, AEP said in a release.

T-Mobile data breach exposes highly sensitive information for some customers [Update] | Tom's

Update: Tom's Guide has learned that this incident affected about 400 T-Mobile customers. The attacker or attackers seem to have penetrated T-Mobile's systems with the goal of taking over customer accounts, but the intrusion is said to be over and affected customers have been notified.

Unlike the previous set of T-Mobile account compromises, disclosed in late December , this is more serious because it involves "your full name, address, account number, Social Security number , customer account personal information number (PIN), account security questions and answers [and] date of birth."

A pay-it-forward effort to cover coffee purchases at Italian Station in downtown Fredericksburg started last Wednesday as a way to tap into the positivity of Random Acts of Kindness Day.

The plan—cooked up by the owner of the coffee shop, the local chamber of commerce and an employee of the Silver Companies—was to have each customer cover the cost of the order of the next person in line. Organizers expected it to last a few hours when it started Feb. 17.

San Mateo County businesses welcome customers back inside with restrictions | KRON4

SAN MATEO COUNTY, Calif. (KRON) — On the Peninsula, it’s the first Friday of indoor dining.

More people were getting takeout here in downtown San Carlos. Restaurant owners say their customers are more cautious and prefer to eat outside but some diners did not mind sitting inside.

“It be great eating indoors again,” Joseph Ursino said. “It’s nice and warm.”
