Are huge marketplace seller aggregators a good thing for Amazon and retail? – RetailWire

A number of aggregators have arrived in recent years with a goal of acquiring third-party Amazon sellers and taking them to their next level of growth. Recently, many have secured funding themselves.

On Feb. 9, Thrasio announced it raised $750,000 in equity funding just after receiving a $3 billion valuation in a debt-funding round. Founded in 2018, Thrasio has acquired nearly 100 Amazon FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) sellers, including Vybe Percussion massage guns, Circadian Optics therapy lamps and Sdara Skincare.

New York Fashion Week has begun, with mostly virtual shows. It's been a very strange year for fashion. Sales of clothing and shoes are down, and the things people are buying are geared to comfort.

But that may change. The Biden administration has made deals with Pfizer and Moderna to acquire enough of their coronvirus vaccines by late July to immunize the entire U.S. population.

“The bars will be open, the restaurants will be open, people will be going to weddings with 150-plus people as opposed to small numbers,” said Michael Londrigan, associate professor at the fashion college LIM.

Utahns Have Another Chance To Enroll In Affordable Care Act Marketplace

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utahns who missed open enrollment for the federal Affordable Care Act marketplace have a second chance. Normally, sign-up is just once a year.

The federal exchange website reopened sign-ups for another three months, giving uninsured Americans plenty of time to explore health insurance options.

"This is an open door for anyone who is uninsured or underinsured," Stanford explained to KSL-TV. "If you're currently in an aca plan and you want to make changes, this is a really wide open enrollment period."

Which? investigation: Amazon Marketplace faces 'uphill struggle' against fake reviews

A new investigation from consumer group Which? uncovered a thriving industry where potentially hundreds of thousands of misleading fake reviews, bought and sold for as little as £5 ($7) each, are making their way onto the platform.

The investigation found businesses dedicated to the sale of Amazon reviews in bulk and incentivising positive reviews through the offer of free products or other incentives.

Many had advice on how to avoid detection from the online marketplace. Some claimed they could get sellers the coveted Amazon's Choice endorsement within a fortnight.

Health care marketplace reopens today - Wausau Pilot & Review

"If you are uninsured, there is a very good chance you could get free or low-cost coverage," said Cynthia Cox, a vice president at the Kaiser Family Foundation and director of its ACA program, in a CNBC report.

From now until May 15, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will run a $50 million advertising budget, a sharp increase from the roughly $10 million per year used to publicize Affordable Care Act enrollment under the Trump administration.

Failure in the Marketplace of Ideas: Censorship and Impeachment - JURIST - Commentary - Legal

The House decision to strip Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) of committee assignments reflects a recent attempt to deal with a perceived failure in the marketplace of ideas. Oliver Wendell Holmes suggested in dissent over 100 years ago (Abrams v. United States (1919)) that the best way to arrive at the truth is by a “free trade in ideas” and not censorship. As an example, the Supreme Court referred to a marketplace of ideas in Matal v.

The model of free trade in ideas rests on the idea that people exercise their rational side when making important civic decisions and not on an irrational side influenced by prejudice and emotion. Propaganda appeals to the irrational side of human nature by polluting the discourse. Advocates for benign censorship perceive a need for a counterforce to correct for the risk of this market failure should the rational side not always prevail.
