American has been at the forefront of ripping all of the seatback screens out of its narrow-body planes and replacing them with a little holder where you can put your phone, your iPad, or perhaps a picture of your loved ones and stream away.

Power problem takes Aiken water plant offline, but service continues for customers

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Aiken water customers may experience low water pressure after a power problem took the Shaws Creek water plant offline early today.

A power transformer maintained by a local utility provider failed early this morning, the city reported.

Plant crews are monitoring the situation and utilizing water from the city's system of wells. City of Aiken customers may experience low water pressure throughout the day, but should not experience a total interruption of service.

Loyalty in the time of a pandemic: Customers prefer brands with a social cause

Amidst the pandemic, a survey of urban Indians revealed an interesting twist: When the price and quality are comparable, as many as 65% are likely to switch brands to help support a cause. Now more than ever, a cause-related marketing programme must demonstrate and communicate a genuine support of the cause if a company wants to optimise the effects on customer loyalty.

The concept of cause-related marketing was introduced in 1983 with the American Express's programme to help restore the Statue of Liberty. During a three-month campaign, AmEx raised $1.7 million for the restoration project, generated by a combination of a percentage of AmEx card purchases, a percentage of AmEx travelers' cheques and vacations sold, and a dollar amount for new credit card customers.

Texans helping Texans | H-E-B let customers take free groceries when power went out, Facebook

AUSTIN, Texas — A Facebook post made public to the community shows the good in humanity at Texas grocery chain H-E-B.

The post made by TR Henny details his Wednesday trip made to an Austin H-E-B at 3:30 p.m. where the power went out. He said hundreds of other people were also inside the building, hoping to get groceries during the severe winter storm.

About 15 minutes later, one of the H-E-B employees reportedly asked Henny to head to the check out area saying, "We'll check everyone out as quickly as we can as we have a process for these kinds of things."

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Austin Energy says its customers should not be worried about a major spike in electric rates due to last week's winter storm.

According to utility officials, some customers under different electric providers across the state have their rates controlled by variable price billing - meaning their electric rates are vulnerable to sudden price swings in the wholesale energy market, similar to what we saw during last week's winter event.

Kroger notifying potentially impacted customers after software data breach | KTLA

The Cincinnati-based grocery and pharmacy chain said in a  statement Friday  that it believes less than 1% of its customers were affected — specifically some using its Health and Money Services — as well as some current and former employees because a number of personnel records were apparently viewed.

Kroger said the breach did not affect Kroger stores’ IT systems or grocery store systems or data and there was no indication that fraud involving accessed personal data had occurred.

17,300+ customers Southside Electric Cooperative customers still without power

MATOAKA, Va. -- More than 800 crews were in the field working to restore power across rural Virginia Saturday, after thousands of Southside Electric Cooperative members spent a week without it.

SEC announced Saturday morning that they were getting assistance in the restoration efforts from cooperative mutual aid and contract crews, as well as Dominion Energy.

As of 9 a.m. Saturday, they said around 19,800 customers were still without power. As of 6 p.m., SEC announced they were at 17,305 outages and expecting to continue to see those numbers decrease throughout the evening.

National grocer advises customers of data breach affecting pharmacy

The data breach notice was issued as a violation of federal health law known as HIPPA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996), according to Cincinnati.com.

Kroger, which has pharmacies in the Atlanta metro area, was notified of the breach Jan. 23, according to Cincinnati.com, and it did not affect grocery store data or Kroger IT data, according to a Kroger release. Kroger has created a website for information about the breach.
