Grasshopper Dispensary opens as Chula Vista's first legal cannabis storefront - The San

If there was ever a day to celebrate the opening of Chula Vista's first, legal cannabis storefront, it was Tuesday on 4/20 – the nationally recognized day for cannabis culture.

"I'm beyond excited, extremely proud to be able to be the first to bring you high-quality, high-testing quality cannabis and cannabis products here to my neighbors in the Chula Vista community," said founder and CEO Andres Camberos, a Chula Vista native who also owns a national chain of grocery companies. "The days of needing to buy cannabis in back alleys and shady locations, untested cannabis, unregulated edibles are over. We have everything you need here."

Cannabis shop drops bid for Sidney storefront, will focus on Victoria sites – Oak Bay News

Armed with information, the president of company that planned to open a cannabis retail store in Sidney says he won’t take legal action against Sidney.

Jeff Prete of Jima Retail Corp. was considering action after council didn’t support his application to the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB) for a cannabis retail shop proposed for the 9700-block of Third Street.

Only the LCRB can approve or deny application, but municipalities can shape the process by signalling support or opposition.

Humble Bundle Will Start Capping Charity Donations in May

Humble Bundle has always presented a win-win scenario for the buyer: a portion of every purchase goes to charity, and you get much more value for the money you spend (as opposed to buying every item in a bundle individually).

However, some changes are being made to the Humble Bundle purchase process that will likely significantly cut down on the website's charity contributions.

Starting in late May (says this official blog post ), Humble Bundle will begin testing a new bundle page that replaces its price sliders with a list of price options and an Adjust Donation dropdown menu.

The Big Free Bookstore is giving back to the Norfolk community | 13newsnow.com

Every book inside their shop is given away free of charge, so families always have something to read. It's called the 'Big Free Bookstore.'

Dr. Jennifer Goff is the head of REACH (Reading Enriches All Children), which is the nonprofit behind the bookstore.

"Cause the best way for kids to learn how to read is kind of modeling that behavior from family," Goff said. "The way that we set it up is that it's just kind of like a gradient of the ages," Dr. Goff said.
