MILWAUKEE — A new ad campaign hits airwaves Monday aimed at encouraging Milwaukeeans to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
The $900,000 campaign will feature TV, radio, and print ads featuring prominent Milwaukee community members sharing their reasons for getting the vaccine. The campaign, put on through public health non-profit Healthy MKE, will specifically target residents on the city's north and south sides which have been disproportionally impacted by the pandemic.

Facebook isn't supposed to let advertisers target by things like age or gender for employment ads anymore, but a new study showed that the social network's ad algorithm is doing it anyway.
More than two years after Facebook disabled that particular feature for housing and employment listings, researchers at the University of Southern California found that certain job listings mysteriously still show a noticeable skew in who sees them. The study's findings would be illegal under federal employment discrimination law.

An ad campaign encouraging Brazilians to get vaccinated against Covid-19 became the butt of online jokes when some noticed it showed a man wearing his mask upside-down, prompting the Rio de Janeiro government to apologize Sunday.
Dubbed “Rio embraces the vaccine,” the public service billboard from the state government shows a health worker in a white lab coat giving himself an embrace, appearing to smile beneath an FFP2 mask whose metal clip — meant to fit over the nose — can be seen beneath his chin.
