GREEN TREE, Pa. — If you usually do your grocery shopping at the Giant Eagle in the Parkway Center Mall you'll need to make some adjustments starting May 1.
Giant Eagle announced Friday that it will be closing the store to walk-in customers to convert it to a curbside pickup and delivery hub.
"There continues to be an unprecedented demand for grocery pickup and delivery options, and we are very excited to bring this curbside pickup center model to Pittsburgh to make thousands of additional spots available to our guests each week," Giant Eagle spokesperson Jannah Jablonowski said.

In response to the letter "Follow shopping rules so we can all stay safe," I consider myself a person who follows rules. However people need to not judge others and the choices they make. In regards to shopping, my husband and I usually shop together because we are shopping for four households, two elderly mothers and a non-driving adult as well as ourselves.

No one implied that people shopping in pairs are trying to "beat the system." My point is that people shopping in pairs have the potential of both getting infected by being out unnecessarily. Most people shopping in pairs do not have the unusual needs that your family situation has, so my suggestion was for all those folks who team up to buy just a loaf of bread and a can of dog food. No harm intended. Sorry if you felt like you were being judged.

Firefighters battle fire at Marketplace Shopping Center in Anderson
At least 65 firefighters from multiple agencies battled a blaze at an Anderson strip mall, and a large cloud of black smoke was visible from Clemson Boulevard on Sunday morning.
The fire started just before 8:30 a.m. at the Marketplace Shopping Center where it appeared to have reached a beauty salon, a small post office annex and a portion of a Dollar General store. The strip mall also contains Ollie's Bargain Outlet, one of the complex's largest anchor stores.
