Housing makes up roughly 15% of economic growth in this country, so homebuilder optimism or pessimism can offer some clues about how the overall economy is faring.
New survey data on Wednesday from the National Association of Homebuilders shows builder confidence fell the most ever in a month, to 30. Anything below 50 is considered negative, and this is the first negative reading in more than five years.
On Thursday, new home construction figures for March will come out. It's no wonder home builders are feeling pessimistic.

According to the report, online energy marketplace business models are expected to differ between existing markets in North America and Europe due to differences in energy market structure. There is little evidence of nascent markets in the other global regions; however, utility online energy marketplaces are expected to appear in Asia Pacific before 2029.

Virtual Cannes Marketplace Led by Agencies Set for June
Hollywood’s top agencies have confirmed that a virtual Cannes marketplace will kick off remotely between June 22-28.
The marketplace, led by CAA Media Finance, Endeavor Content, ICM Partners, and UTA Independent Film Group and a coalition of more than 30 leaders in the independent film industry, will participate in the marketplace even as the Cannes Film Festival remains postponed.
The marketplace was conceived as a contingency plan in the event the festival was canceled, and it will coincide with Cannes’ official Marché du Film, which will also take place in late June.

As a local contractor who owns and operates a business in Altamont/Guilderland that also employs several Guilderland residents, I support the development of land adjacent to Crossgates to build a much desired Costco.
This will be a great addition to the marketplace and will be a valuable asset for the town of Guilderland and Albany County.
I commend the town for taking the extra time, with the COVID-19 crisis, to allow local residents to comment. I am voicing my opinion with the hope that the planning board will continue to advance the project in a timely manner. As businesses and residents of Guilderland, we need to make sure we are taking the next steps that would allow for site construction of this project to happen this summer.
