Sheetz convenience stores announced Saturday that locations will have special hours for senior citizens or those designated as higher-risk.
Every Sunday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. every Sheetz location will be reserved for those most at risk in the community.
Sheetz asks others be respectful of this hour and try to do their shopping at another time at their stores across the state.
City Utilities warns Springfield customers to watch out for scammers
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- City Utilities reminds Springfield customers to take caution if you think someone is trying to scam you or intentionally interrupt your utility service.
A spokesperson says one customer was recently approached by a person who falsely claimed to be working for City Utilities.
The customer was suspicious and contacted the CU office, prompting the person to leave the residence.

Jim Hafdahl is owner of The Card and Party Shop on Chestnut Street. The Hallmark store was opened in Virginia 50 years ago by Hafdahl's father, Les.
"The biggest struggle I'm having is that store owners like myself — we're all extroverts," Hafdahl said in a phone interview Thursday. "Our regular customers are our family. We visit with them every time they come into our establishments. And that's probably the biggest thing that we proprietors are missing from our family of regular customers. We probably feel that more than the money thing."

The company does not plan to check ID’s, but is asking the other customers to respect the hour to give seniors a comfortable visit.
