Fed Relief Money To Fund Buy Local Ad Campaign | Bostonomix

In the run-up to the annual sales tax holiday weekend, Gov. Charlie Baker announced a $2 million ad campaign on Tuesday that will run through the end of the year, encouraging residents to shop, dine out and travel at local stores and destinations.

Baker visited the family-owned WheelWorks bicycle shop in Belmont to make the announcement and highlight how shoppers in Massachusetts can avoid paying the state's 6.25% sales tax on all purchases under $2,500 this weekend.

PITTSBURGH — A well-written ad slogan can make consumers empty their pockets. It can make patrons rush to be the first to see the latest exhibit before even knowing what's on display. And, if a writer is talented enough — like in the case of Pittsburgh ad men Ray and Larkin Werner — an advertising campaign can pull on heartstrings, creating a sense of familiarity lasting for decades.

It was in the '80s when Ray Werner came up with one of Pennsylvania's most well-loved campaign slogans, one that still resonates with people today.

Richard Neal's campaign is demanding local TV stations remove an attack ad | Boston.com

Rep. Richard Neal hasn't shied away from his distinction as the top recipient in Congress of donations from business-affiliated political action groups.

But in the final stretch of a nationally watched primary race against Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse , the Springfield Democrat's re-election campaign is trying to take down a third-party TV ad highlighting that fact.

In a letter first reported Wednesday by the website Sludge , a lawyer for Neal's campaign made the unusual demand that several Western Massachusetts stations remove the "false and defamatory" ad by the national progressive group Justice Democrats — which has supported Morse's campaign for more than a year — criticizing his acceptance of corporate PAC donations.

New coronavirus billboards, ads target young, diverse Michiganders

The images show a group of young men on the basketball court, and Rona is in the middle of the action. A group of young women are hanging out together, but Rona's with them, too, and hitches a ride when one of them later visits her mother. When people go to the beach, Rona tags along.

It's all part of a $5 million ad and marketing campaign created by a coalition of Michigan businesses and health care companies to remind people how easily the virus can spread in the community. The aim is to reduce transmission in Michigan and allow for the state's economy to completely reopen.

Great Falls campaign posting showing Nazi flag called 'misleading'

A Nazi flag seen in the background in a photo featuring two current state lawmakers that's posted on an opposing candidate's Facebook page was described as being part of an "outlandish attack ad" by the leader of a local veterans group that displays the piece of World War II memorabilia.

"In a just world, this would disqualify him," Horn writes on his post, later adding "As a Latino with Jewish heritage, I cannot begin to describe how this disgusts me. And, I must ask, Does this represent you?"
