WINNIPEG — Manitoba’s COVID-19 numbers were once the envy of most other provinces, but there have been several outbreaks in recent weeks, and the government is having to alter its six-figure ad campaign.

At one point in July, Manitoba had flattened its infection curve so much that there was only one known active case. That stood in sharp contrast to every other province west of New Brunswick.
Winnipeg offered to be the site for a shortened Canadian Football League season (which never went ahead) and the government launched advertisements on billboards, social media and elsewhere with the message: “Ready. Safe. Grow.”

Outside group pulls ad about Alex Morse after criticism it was homophobic | TheHill
American Working Families, a Democratic outside group, pulled an ad it ran about the House race in Massachusetts 1st Congressional District after it caught flak for its remarks on Holyoke Mayor and candidate Alex Morse (D).
The ad, which had already been on the air and web, hit Morse's record as mayor, accused his campaign of being bankrolled by other outside groups and hit him over "sexual relationships with college students."

This is the ad they sent to stations with the concluding sentences: "Now Alex Morse admits to sexual relationships with college students -- even while he was a university lecturer. Alex Morse, terrible judgment, we don't need in Congress." https://t.co/GcTSzmXBzV pic.twitter.com/6KyGT8p2Xw

One of the ads, titled "Everybody Vote," is based around an energetic rap that emphasizes the importance of voting and ends by referencing a website that gives more information on how to do so in each state. The song was created by producer Kosine. Utilizing lyrics that reference "justice and peace," the video also displays photos of California senator Kamala Harris -- Biden's vice presidential running mate -- at Pride in 2019.

Wyoming ranchers protest Burger King ad campaign | Powell Tribune
A recent ad campaign by fast food giant Burger King proved to be the last straw for a group of Goshen County ranchers.

Burger King released the Impossible Whopper in August 2019, a controversial product which features a meat-free patty made mostly of soy instead of beef. The latest ad campaign features BK’s plan to introduce lemongrass to cows’ diets to reduce methane emissions.
That commercial was the tipping point, said Lori Shafer, one of the event’s organizers. Local cattle producers decided to take a stand. They did so by lining the streets and adjacent parking lot near Burger King in Torrington on Friday with all manner and makes of pickup trucks and trailers adorned with pro-beef signs and American flags.
Funding source of campaign attack ad remains a mystery | Decatur | decaturdaily.com
An attack ad released on Facebook two days before the municipal election slammed the candidate who most aggressively challenged incumbent Decatur Mayor Tab Bowling, but voters still have no way to figure out who paid for it.
Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill last week called the secretive venture a circumvention of state law. The candidate who was the target of the ad, David Childers, said it prevented him from being in the runoff. Bowling, who said he had nothing to do with the ad, and Butch Matthews will face off in the Oct. 6 runoff election.
Hear Bad Bunny, Alejandro Fernandez in New Biden Campaign Ads - Rolling Stone
Two Latin superstars — Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny and regional Mexican singer-songwriter Alejandro Fernandez — have shared their music in support of Joe Biden’s run for the White House. The Biden-Harris campaign released two ads on Friday courting Latinx communities in three critical swing states: Arizona, Florida and Pennsylvania.
Puerto Ricans comprise a key voting bloc in Florida and Pennsylvania, where prospective Biden voters can hear Bad Bunny’s 2020 breakup song, “Pero Ya No.” The song is set to footage from several Trump rallies, interspersed with shots of detained immigrant children, protestors facing off with riot police, and Trump tossing rolls of paper towels to Puerto Ricans after Hurricane Maria. “Before I loved you, but now I don’t,” sings Bunny in Spanish.
Minneapolis looks to its own backyard to lure visitors to local businesses, restaurants -
Pounded by the pandemic and recent riots, the city of Minneapolis has launched a first-ever ad campaign designed to encourage its own citizens to support area restaurants and small businesses.
This summer, Meet Minneapolis — the city's tourism and convention-planning arm more accustomed to luring tourism from beyond state lines — partnered with ad giant Carmichael Lynch to launch the "We Need Us" advertising blitz, which officials liken to a rally cry.
