Kim Klacik's recent ad — in which she marches through Baltimore to showcase vacant homes and blames Democratic leadership — broke through to a national audience last week when President Donald Trump shared it with his millions of followers on Twitter.
Klacik, the Republican running to represent Maryland's heavily Democratic 7th Congressional District, will step once again onto a national stage this week. She is scheduled to speak during the first night of the Republican National Convention, according to a Trump campaign announcement.

County approves funding for department of corrections, COVID-19 ad campaign - News - The
Shawnee County commissioners on Thursday approved funding that could help the county’s department of corrections mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in its facilities.
Brian Cole, director of the Shawnee County Department of Corrections, went before commissioners Thursday morning to request more than $1 million in funding from the county’s Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act allotment. Distribution of the money, which commissioners approved 3-0, will allow the department to renovate its HVAC system and more than a dozen isolated rooms in the adult detention center to reduce the risk of inmate and staff exposure to the coronavirus.

The Trump campaign kicked off its convention response with a flashy ad buy placed at the top of YouTube's home page for a 96-hour stretch , seeking to bracket the virtual Democratic National Convention on the most popular video platform on the internet.
It also bought a lot of eyes. Since the pricey campaign launched on Tuesday morning, five new ads in heavy rotation on YouTube have garnered more than 40 million views. The Trump campaign's nightly shows and broadcasts, by comparison, have barely topped 100,000 views on the platform.

(The Center Square) – Illinois voters will decide whether the state will move to a progressive income tax model from a flat tax this November, and the advertising blitz is underway.
The group "Vote Yes for Fairness" and AARP have produced ads supporting the proposed constitutional amendment. One ad claims 97 percent of Illinoisans will pay the same or less in taxes, while people making above $250,000 will pay more. Another ad said a yes vote will raise taxes on the top 3 percent, generate almost $3 billion a year and protect your retirement income.
