Michigan residents will soon begin seeing components of a $5-million advertising campaign aimed at reducing the spread of coronavirus, especially by individuals in their 20s and 30s.
The campaign, which features a red, tentacled character who dons sunglasses and goes by the name of "Rona," was launched recently and is expected to spread over the next six months across social media, streaming services, television, 75 radio stations and nearly 200 billboards statewide.

A new, six-figure digital ad campaign by the political wing of the Environmental Defense Fund takes aim at U.S. Rep. Scott Perry’s, R-10th District, record on environmental issues and what it brands his “denial of climate science.”
The ad, " Protect at all Costs ," will start running Wednesday across the district on such digital platforms as Facebook, YouTube, Hulu, and Pandora. The 10th District includes Cumberland, Dauphin and York counties.
Anti-Trump super PAC Lincoln Project launches ad campaign during RNC
A super PAC that's targeting President Donald Trump is initiating a $4 million ad blitz that's set to run throughout the week of the Republican National Convention.
The Lincoln Project, a political action committee run by a group of Republican "Never Trumpers," is spending the seven figure sum on TV and digital ads that will target voters in the key states of Arizona, Florida, Texas, North Carolina, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, a spokesman for the group told CNBC.

TORONTO — An Ontario government advertising blitz touting the province's back to school plan will continue, Premier Doug Ford said Tuesday amid opposition calls to redirect the campaign costs towards keeping students safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ford slammed the opposition legislators who have criticized the newly released radio, online and print ads, accusing them of "playing politics".
He did not say how much the ad campaign is expected to cost, but said it was necessary to keep parents informed about the school reopening plans.

From Tuesday through next Monday, the Trump campaign has spent just under $1.5 million on television ads -- mostly on national cable -- compared to more than $17 million that the Biden campaign has placed for the week, according to ad-buy data from ad analysis firm CMGA/Kantar media. More national cable buy from Trump is expected this week, but not likely to surpass Biden's placements, according to CMAG.
And the week of the Democratic National Convention last week was no different. The Biden campaign had more than $15.3 million on air while the Trump campaign only had about $1.8 million.
