Getting noticed in the marketplace has always been a challenge, even more so lately. There are competing communication channels and everyone is trying to stand out from the crowd. Positioning your company for success can begin by identifying and leveraging your strengths. The three areas that I believe most companies can stand out in are with their people, their products and their processes.
I hear businesses talk about their people all the time. They say things like, “we have great people,” or “our people are our biggest asset.” OK, but how are they great or why are they your biggest asset? More importantly, tell me how that will make a difference to me if I’m a customer. WIIFM — what’s in it for me?

Who gets to decide what "feminism" looks like? - Marketplace
It was quintessential "I'm not a feminist, but . . ." a recurring and well-documented cultural shorthand in which equal rights were espoused but allegiance to feminist ideology was evaded. Swift, while a prominent example of this, was part of a larger cohort of pop icons who made similar statements. That same year, Katy Perry said at Billboard's Women in Music luncheon, "I am not a feminist, but I do believe in the strength of women.

Apple's privacy labels show which apps collect the most data - Marketplace
A few weeks ago, Apple released an iOS update that shows you how much data every app on your phone or tablet is collecting — and it can be surprising. For example, even though WhatsApp offers encrypted messaging — no one can read your actual messages — it still collects a ton of other information, like your location, what you buy through the service, who your friends are, and shares all that with parent company Facebook.
Molly Wood: It sounds like you’re not very hopeful that this is going to make a meaningful difference in consumer behavior.

Those decisions are being driven by the pandemic, and the surge of infection rates around the country. But this second round of delayed starts and online classes will have both immediate and far-reaching financial implications for institutions.
