Top ecommerce charts of 2020

The 2020 Digital Commerce 360 Next 1000 is a ranking of the 1,001–2,000 midsized online retailers selling in North America. Just shy of the Top 1000, these ecommerce merchants have annual online sales between $1 million and $29 million. Collectively, the Next 1000 sold $11.00 billion online in 2019, up 15.5% from $9.52 billion in 2018. The series of charts in this article shares data on the Next 1000 cohort.

NCR Acquires eCommerce Retail Platform Freshop | PYMNTS.com

NCR Corp. , which offers a point-of-sale (POS) platform, has acquired Freshop , an eCommerce company. The combined companies' products, NCR said in a press release , "will give retailers, especially regional and small grocery chains, the ability to quickly deploy 'buy-online, pick-up-in-store' capabilities to serve their customers' needs directly."

NCR added, "This combination enables retailers to build stronger customer relationships, strengthen their brands, and earn better margins than with third-party eCommerce providers."

Shopify permanently shuts down Trump e-commerce stores following riots | Ad Age

Trump loyalists will no longer be able to buy their MAGA gear online, at least not through the president's official e-commerce sites operated by Shopify. Following the riots and chaos unleashed in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, the popular platform for online sales operations stated it permanently shut down all of its Trump-affiliated stores.

While the Trump-affiliated Shopify sites are down, consumers can still buy gear including hats, flags and Christmas tree ornaments emblazoned with the name on Amazon. The Seattle-based ecommerce giant did not return a call requesting comment about the sale of such merchandise on its platform.

Udaan Raises $280 Million For B2B eCommerce | PYMNTS.com

Indian B2B eCommerce platform udaan said it raised $280 million in additional funds as of Wednesday (Jan. 6), from both new and existing investors, a report in the Hindu Bisuness Line says.

According to the report, udaan plans to use the funding for reaching out to more small businesses around the country, expand its selection of products and improve the user experience, along with bolstering its technology program and supply chain finance infrastructure, and expanding SME financing capabilities.
