NAM Launches ‘Wear a Face Covering’ Ad Campaign

The National Association of Manufacturers launched “ Wear a Face Covering ,” an ad campaign designed to keep our economy growing and protect American families. It illustrates that face coverings are essential to safeguarding jobs and reopening businesses. The campaign will run in key manufacturing states, such as Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio and others. Upon release of the ad, NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons made this statement:

“There is no way to sugarcoat this — we need to get America back to work now and get our economy roaring again. The virus is spreading in a significant way, and if it continues, that will lead to economic devastation the likes of which we have never seen before.

The Facebook ad boycotts have entered the big leagues. Now what?

With major advertisers like Verizon joining the campaign Thursday and Unilever , Coca-Cola and Honda saying they would pull advertising on Friday, Facebook is now facing a snowball effect of advertisers abandoning the site.

Facebook has signaled it intends to do things on its own terms. In a more than 1,600-word memo to advertisers obtained by CNBC, the company's VP of global business solutions, Carolyn Everson, said "boycotting in general is not the way for us to make progress together."

Why Do These Trump Campaign Ads Link to Brad Parscale’s Facebook Page? – Mother Jones

The Trump campaign is running Facebook ads from a page for campaign manager Brad Parscale, spending thousands of dollars to promote Parscale’s name and potentially his private business.

The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment. It’s possible that the campaign decided that Parscale, who has gained a certain sort of fame as the architect of Trump’s digital campaign in 2016 and as the public face of his reelection effort, was enough of a celebrity that supporters would engage with the campaign ad when they saw that it came from him. Regardless of the motive, Parscale stands to benefit, once again.

Trump Campaign Attacks Biden With Ads on Mental Sharpness – NBC Boston

As the 2020 election gets closer, President Donald Trump and his campaign are taking more shots at presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden, which include questioning his mental fitness.

As the 2020 race heats up, the Trump campaign has seemingly arrived at what it thinks is a winning strategy: to say presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden is mentally compromised.

"Here's a guy that doesn't talk. Nobody hears him and whenever he does talk he can't put two sentences together," President Donald Trump said of Biden Thursday night at a FOX News Town Hall.

Beauty brands join Facebook and Instagram ad boycott – Glossy

Unilever and Birchbox announced their participation in the campaign on Friday, joining a wide range of brands including Reformation, Patagonia, The North Face, Eddie Bauer, REI and Eileen Fisher, as well as Verizon and Ben & Jerry's. Created by a group of organizations including Anti-Defamation League, the NAACP, Sleeping Giants and Color of Change, the campaign calls on brands to pause their ad spending on all Facebook properties for the month of July.

Birchbox is halting all of its ad spend on Facebook and Instagram for the month of July, foregoing advertising channels that make up a significant portion of the brand's sales. It announced its participation in an Instagram post Friday, saying, "We want Facebook to acknowledge this demand for change and to commit to making the necessary changes on StopHateforProfit.org."
