In advance of its new streaming service Peacock 's national debut in July, NBCUniversal is pushing out a big brand campaign with the hope of building excitement not only for its content, but the platform’s $0 starting price point.
A marketing campaign for the service, which kicked off this week, leans hard into the platform’s free, ad-supported tier. Ads are running on NBCUniversal-owned television stations as well as across digital and social, connected TV devices and off-platform linear and addressable.

"Dangerous MOBS of far-left groups are running through our streets and causing absolute mayhem," the campaign's Facebook ads said . Beneath the text was the red triangle, a symbol that Nazis used to identify Communists and other political prisoners in concentration camps, just as they used a pink triangle to identify people they labeled as homosexual.
It was not clear if the Trump campaign was familiar with the origin of the symbol, which was reclaimed after World War II by some anti-fascists in Britain and Germany, in the same way that various political groups over the years have reclaimed words and symbols used to oppress them.

Jefferson Burton — the former Utah National Guard commander who now leads the Utah Department of Health's COVID-19 efforts — apparently again ran afoul of Defense Department rules that ban featuring photos of him in uniform in ads for his legislative campaign.
That comes after Burton acknowledged that an earlier flyer had violated a ban on retired military members who run for office from using pictures of themselves in uniform "as the primary graphic representation in any campaign media."

More than a half century after his grandfather, Robert Kennedy, was assassinated while seeking the presidency, Rep. Joe Kennedy III has been airing a campaign ad highlighting the current civil unrest that has echoes of the turbulent election year of 1968.
About $1 million worth of TV ads on the issue ran between May 25 and June 15. While those spots account for only a fraction of the money spent on paid media, they may be a trial run for broader messaging on the issue. They also underscore how differently the two parties are treating the unrest to appeal to their supporters.
