" Before the pandemic, most of us did our food shopping in stores. Not true anymore. Since the crisis began, we've increasingly called on masked heroes working for delivery services to fetch our groceries. An estimated 50% of all US consumers have now grocery-shopped online, a whopping 40% increase over last year."

Ecommerce in India on cusp of huge growth, says new report | WARC
India's $850 billion retail sector is on the "cusp of a transformation", led by the growth of e-commerce and its growing influence on India's consumers, says a Bain & Company report, produced in collaboration with Flipkart.
"We expect fashion categories to play a critical role in acquiring online customers, similar to the mature markets of the US and China," say the authors.
"The Indian e-retail market is primed to reach nearly 300 million to 350 million shoppers over the next five years, propelling the online gross merchandise value to $100 billion to 120 billion by 2025," they say, adding that the ecommerce trend was already well-established before lockdown, but has been accelerated by it.

The lockdown orders, which were in effect from March 23, left the UK population unable to shop in-store. From June 15, nonessential stores can begin reopening. Digital retail became a necessity for many, as evidenced by our latest forecast. Growth in retail ecommerce will spike this year, followed by a slight recalibration in 2021 and strong growth thereafter. We expect ecommerce will account for an ever-greater proportion of total retail sales.

Although long expected to drive continued expansion, ecommerce exceeded growth expectations in March through May 2020 . Order volume in May increased 65% versus the prior year and exceeded historic holiday peak season order volumes. In fact, in a recent 3PL Central poll, 67% of 3PLs reported growth this year and 24% of 3PLs reported seeing growth in excess of 25%.
"When we polled 3PLs about their biggest challenges related to ecommerce scalability, 58% shared technology implementation and 50% shared operational efficiency as the greatest challenges they faced," said Andy Lloyd , chief executive officer at 3PL Central. "That's why we wanted to create a resource and a roadmap to help 3PL warehouses address the changing market and the better prepare for the onslaught of ecommerce orders."

Take the Leap into E-commerce with Steven Ridzyowski and Ecommerce Marketing Agency
NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / June 14, 2020 / E-commerce has been around ever since the internet opened for the world to see. It started with few companies such as Amazon and Alibaba, who have put up a website where people and enterprises can sell their products to millions of customers. Now, businesses have an exclusive platform in their own domain to sell their products.
These platforms modernized and eventually led to the transition from the old brick and mortar set-up to the one-stop-shop webpages. However, having a new platform presents another issue of reaching your potential target audience. Steven Ridzyowski forecasted this problem and has built solutions through his company, Ecommerce Marketing Agency.

The stringent lockdown in France has boosted ecommerce dramatically as consumers purchase more products online and make fewer in-store trips.
According to the Fédération du e-commerce et de la vente à distance (FEVAD), retail ecommerce sales in France declined in March 2020 but recovered rapidly in April. Across 40 digital retailers surveyed, ecommerce sales (excluding grocery) were up between 11% and 21% in April. Retailers of tech and entertainment products reported sales gains of 26% to 27%, compared with the beginning of March. If grocery sales were included, April ecommerce sales would have posted even greater increases.
