While we have crushed the coronavirus curve, courtesy of the supermarket chain Trader Joe’s, we also may be finally flattening the woke mob curve of declaring things racist with no pushback whatsoever. Last month, a high school student, likely urged along by her woke teachers, started a petition declaring Trader Joe’s branding “racist.”
SFGate reported, “The products in question are food items from various parts of the world that are re-branded under the Trader Joe’s umbrella. But rather than the typical Trader Joe’s name emblazoned on food items, oftentimes products are given offshoots of the name Joe.

Common sense KYC: Customers should supply the knowledge | Article | Compliance Week
I embarked upon a career in financial crime investigations and anti-money laundering compliance in 2001, assuming I'd be seeking a new role by 2006 because all of the issues would have been fixed by then. Well, it's 2020, and I am still fighting financial crime and money laundering alongside thousands of other people.
So, what was wrong? Was it my calculation, or the way in which we have failed to deal with financial crime and money laundering?
In 2001 I perceived the business of "know your customer" (KYC) to be a very straightforward process that would logically place the onus upon the customer to provide the required data and keep it up to date. I also saw transactions as records connecting accounts, customers, and other parties, each time creating an easy-to-follow audit trail. I thought my approach was common sense, and I have since learned it is ironically not so common after all.
9:45 a.m. update: 286,000-plus Eversource customers still in dark | Republican-American
As Eversource works to restore power, as of 9:45 a.m. on Saturday 286,000 customers statewide were still without power.
Eversource issued a statement Thursday night saying that it could be until Tuesday for some customers to be back online. That as politicians across the state railed against the utility for its response to the storm.
Still in the dark and there they will stay. The imaginary Tuesday 11:59 time of virtually all restoration is a fantasy and smokescreen, many thousands should expect to be without power for another week at the very minimum. Neversource thinks they have an out with this promised time; they don't.
Best practices for providing exceptional customer experiences | Business | tylerpaper.com
• Provide exceptional customer experiences in person. The key to providing excellent customer service is to ensure the customer feels important and valued at each point of the sales process. This includes the marketing messages they receive even before they enter your building and the communications they receive after they have made the purchase
• Provide exceptional customer experiences online. Your website can be a powerful tool. However, it can also work against you. Make sure the user experience is one which converts shoppers to customers rather than one which turns them away. Have a third party evaluate your site’s effectiveness in design, navigation, content quality, search engine optimization, and functionality, and have them suggest modifications to improve the website.

Park Bait Shop reopens to customers | WGN-TV
CHICAGO — At the corner of Montrose Harbor Drive and Simonds, the Park Bait Shop is back open for business.
We first met Owner Stacy Greene two weeks ago at the time the bait shop had been closed down by the city for 17 weeks because of the pandemic. Her business, sitting on park district land, was ordered to shutter because of its proximity to the lakefront.
After posting a video, her plight gained traction. A GoFundMe page raised a few thousand dollars to help with back bills and part time employees…
