March 12, 2021 – Nevada Irrigation District (NID) is proud to be joining other WaterSense partners in participating in this year's Fix-A-Leak Week, running from March 15 – 21. This is an annual awareness campaign organized by the US Environmental Protection Agency to show the public the massive amounts of water waste caused by ordinary household leaks such as running toilets and leaky faucets. These small leaks add up to a huge amount of wasted water.
NID encourages all customers to get involved and check their home for leaks. For information on how to track down leaks, please check out the following resources:

Customers Angry Over Bank Delays On Stimulus Checks | HuffPost
Americans waiting to get their stimulus checks were growing increasingly frustrated Saturday after discovering some banks won't make checks available to them for days, even if they've already been deposited by the federal government.
The official payment date for the "Economic Impact Payments" is March 17, but millions of dollars in checks had already landed in countless bank accounts by Friday , The Wall Street Journal reported.
"Some Americans may see the direct deposit payments as pending or as provisional payments in their accounts before the official payment date of March 17," the Internal Revenue Service explained on its website.

When a musician considers buying a guitar, they’d ideally want to feel the instrument slung over their shoulders and in their hands.
“Just by the nature of the products that we sell, everything is very hands on,” said Tyler Chard, manager for the Long & McQuade St. John’s location. “Everything is very visually driven. As you can imagine, a lot of guitar purchases are on impulse. A lot of times, people don’t plan to come in and buy an expensive guitar ... But once you come in and have a look and play some things, there’s an immersive experience when you’re in that store.

Need More Customers? Look to the Data
COVID-19 has wrought many changes in society. For retailers, perhaps the most important is the massive shift to online purchases of just about everything. On the one hand, online retailers of all kinds are facing more competition from newcomers which previously concentrated on in-store sales.
But there's also an important benefit for retailers that know how to take advantage of it: more online customers means more data that retailers can analyze to increase sales and beat competitors. Using that data, retailers can measure what makes online customers tick — e.g., what they're interested in, why they chose a specific brand/online store, what site features attract them, why they chose to shop at a particular site in the first place, and much more.
