White House shifts ad campaign strategy to reflect growing concern over conservatives'

Reluctance among conservatives to get vaccinated against Covid-19 has caused growing concern inside the White House, according to people familiar with the matter, even as President Joe Biden’s administration rapidly scales up nationwide efforts to administer shots.

The topic has been the subject of several high-level conversations between administration advisers and health experts, including at the presidential level, the officials said.

Conservatives will now be one of the primary target audiences for a massive public relations campaign that could launch as early as next week, officials said. And the administration, through its partners, has been working with NASCAR, country music organizations and several rural organizations on vaccine confidence efforts meant for conservative eyes and ears.

Koch-Backed Ad Campaign Targets Senators on Immigration Changes | Bloomberg Government

A group backed by billionaire conservative Charles Koch plans to unveil a digital campaign Friday prodding the Senate to pass changes to the immigration system by targeting six lawmakers viewed as potential dealmakers.

The ad campaign by the LIBRE Initiative will target Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin (W.Va.) and Republican Sens. Bill Cassidy (La.) Thom Tillis (N.C.), James Lankford (Okla.), Rob Portman (Ohio), and John Cornyn (Texas).

The organization intends to reach tens of thousands of people in each of the six states in which the ads are focused, prompting them to send a message to their senator. The Texas-based group declined to say how much it was spending on the digital initiative.

Intel's new CEO, Pat Gelsinger , has been on the job barely more than a month, but he has wasted no time reviving the Mac versus PC battle . The latest shot is a series of ads featuring Justin Long. Long famously starred in the original Mac versus PC commercials 15 years ago, but has now switched sides to give an "honest comparison between Mac and PC." 

The ads are probably what you'd expect of an attempt to play off of Apple's funny and effective campaign, but the question for Gelsinger is whether this is a fight he really wants.
