Will Baltimore-area shopping malls survive after the pandemic?

It had been a long time since Taneha Hopkins ventured out to a mall. The crowds seemed younger and younger, everything was available online anyway, and then such trips became even less attractive during a pandemic.

One day last week, the dialysis technician needed to get out, she said, and had lunch with a friend at The Cheesecake Factory at Towson Town Center.

"We decided to walk around the mall," said Hopkins, 36. "It was an older crowd. It was just a nice day."

Many things are taking place:

Shopping for safe cosmetics shouldn't be hard. That's why we're partnering with Clearya.

A free Chrome extension and mobile app created by a passionate couple helps customers easily find non-toxic consumer products as they shop online.

Shopping for safe cosmetics is harder than it should be. Labels are full of confusing claims like "natural," "organic" and "clean" and it's not always clear what each one means or if it even means anything at all. Ingredient lists are printed in tiny font and full of unrecognizable chemicals and hidden ingredients. We can't even tell what's in these products, much less which parts of them are safe or not.

Office Real Estate Should Heed The Warning From The Carnage In Shopping Malls

Changes in consumer behaviour that seemed relatively marginal and slow-moving undermined the value of retail real estate very quickly in the UK and U.S., especially shopping malls . There is the same potential in the office sector, with changes in human behaviour being massively accelerated by Covid-19 , one investor speaking at Bisnow 's capital markets digital event warned this week.

Kanwei said part of the inability of retail real estate to see change coming is because a group of people with very similar backgrounds and experience could not envisage a future that might be radically different to their own past.
