Think of it as Tinder for shopping, with built-in machine learning technology to match users with clothes and styles they actually like.
“Embracing artificial intelligence, analytics and machine learning can help [companies] boost engagement and productivity, while delivering against customer expectations and outpacing the competition,” said Shash Anand, vp of product strategy at IoT firm SOTI. “By extracting meaningful insights from collected data, companies will be able to deliver better, more customized offers to their consumers at the right moment.”

BAY TERRACE, QUEENS — A father-daughter team is opening an acai bowl and smoothie shop in the Bay Terrace Shopping Center next week.
Queens native Peter Kalogeropoulos and his two daughters, Olivia and Alexis, are behind the newest franchise location of SoBol, opening Jan. 15 in the shopping center.
"We chose this particular location because of the positive atmosphere," Peter and Olivia Kalogeropoulos said in a statement. "We personally feel that is the heartbeat of Queens!"

More Virginia shopping centers may allow open carry of alcohol
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) — A proposed bill could soon allow more folks to openly carry a cold one while walking around shopping centers in Virginia.
Under current law, a shopping center can only apply for this license if it has at least 100,000 square feet of retail, other mixed use development and sit on at least 25 acres.
State Senator Barbara Favola (D) submitted a bill that would lower the requirement to 10 acres. If passed, this new law would primarily affect smaller shopping centers, including Hollymead ,should developers choose to apply for licensing.

$16M development to bring shopping center, grocery store to Frayser
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The potential transformation of a 20-acre lot in a blighted area of Frayser is creating a lot of excitement these days.
"A full grocery store is coming. We gotta be excited about that," said Shelby County Commissioner Willie Brooks.

The project, titled Frayser Gateway, will include a grocery store, apparel store, national goods retailer and restaurants. It's been decades since that area has seen a project like this.
