Ride share food delivery companies take steps to protect customers from coronavirus

DETROIT – Health officials confirmed there are now four additional cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Michigan, bringing the state total to 16 as of Friday afternoon.

Thursday night Gov. Gretchen Whitmer closed all K-12 schools in Michigan until Sunday, April 5. on Friday she signed an executive order to cancel all events with more than 250 people until April 5.

A lot of people will be staying at home and may turn to delivery services to get their food. So how are companies like Grubhub and Doordash making sure the food is safe?

Your data was 'taken without permission', customers told, after personal info accessed in O2 UK

Hackers have slurped biz comms customers' data from a database run by one of O2's largest UK partners.

"As soon as we became aware of this unauthorised access we shut down access to the system and launched a full investigation, with assistance from experts, to determine what happened and what information was affected. We immediately reported this matter to the Information Commissioner's Office and are actively working on fully exploring the details of how it happened."

Coronavirus: Cable Ops, Telcos Pledge to Not Disconnect Customers – Variety

At least 69 U.S. cable and telecommunications companies have pledged to not cut off broadband or telephone service for the next 60 days to any customers — even if they’re unable to pay their bills. The industry took the step as the country reels from the coronavirus pandemic with offices, schools and events shutting down temporarily.

Separately from the FCC’s pledge, Comcast has announced it will provide free broadband for low-income families and Charter said it will offer free broadband to families with students for the next 60 days.

Hearing aid company closes while owing customers thousands | KFOR.com

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The state fair is an Oklahoma staple and a boon for business for Jeff Bragg Sr. and Jeff Bragg Jr. The two have spent years building a customer base for Bragg Family Hearing.

Robert Schoenecke first met the Braggs in 2016. He would purchase hearing aids, which malfunctioned last fall.

"He said, 'Okay, you've been a good customer, it's been three years,'" said Robert. "You're due for an upgrade."

The parties agreed Robert would pay it all up front. Bragg would receive the insurance money, and those funds would be refunded.

Evergy will not disconnect customers facing possible hardship from coronavirus

Evergy said it will not disconnect customers' service for nonpayment because communities are facing potential hardship from the coronavirus.

"Evergy provides an essential service," said Chuck Caisley, senior vice president and chief customer officer, in a news release. "Coronavirus is an unprecedented challenge and may result in customers facing unexpected or unusual financial strain."

EDF Energy to take on iSupplyEnergy's 190,000 customers – here's what you need to know

EDF Energy is set to take on all 190,000 customers supplied by iSupplyEnergy, which is to stop operating – if you're with iSupplyEnergy, here's what you need to know.

Following an agreement, all iSupplyEnergy customers will be moved over to EDF from April as its parent company, Vattenfall, exits the domestic energy market in the UK.

If you're with iSupplyEnergy, don't worry –  EDF says all fixed deals will be honoured, and if you're on a variable-rate tariff you won't see any price increase.
