Many of us are still venturing out to stock up on food and toiletries. But what's the safest way to shop during this pandemic? And what should you do once you've brought your haul home?

Hardware stores taking precautions as people keep shopping
VERONA (WKOW) -- For many, staying at home with nothing to do has filled up to-do lists and home projects.

"Everybody is outside, everybody is trying to get out of the house and work," Olga Fish, a manager at Dorn True Value in Verona, said.
"A lot, they have all the time," Fish said. "Right now they're all at home and they don't know what to do with themselves, so they have been starting any project."
Whereas before they'd get plenty of contractors coming in to get items they need for work, now it's just homeowners coming in to find something to do.

ST. PAUL — With the changing landscape of grocery shopping during the pandemic come new shopping protocols and etiquette.
There are a lot of questions out there about what new practices should be followed when grocery shopping. The Minnesota Grocers Association has addressed that in an advisory issued this week.

Debra Alexander of Longview started her day Friday by shopping for dog supplies at Big Lots during the store's designated senior shopping hour.
"I think it's wonderful," Alexander said of the time set aside for senior residents. "I have a hard time walking and find it easier to get around when it is not crowded."
